A method of searching a plurality of data sets with a search query may include receiving the search query, where the search query may include one or more tokens. The method may also include accessing the plurality of data sets, and calculating maximum possible search scores for each of the plurality of data sets. The method may additionally include identifying a subset of the plurality of data sets for which the corresponding maximum possible search scores exceed a threshold score. The method may further include calculating search scores for the subset of the plurality of data sets, and providing the a result list based on the search scores.

Searching data sets

A method of classifying individual documents in a document collection according to a hierarchy may include selecting an object from the hierarchy, generating one or more variants for the object, and for each of the one or more variants, determining a frequency threshold based at least in part on how frequently the one or more variants occurs in the document collection. The method may also include selecting a first document in the document collection, where the first document includes one or more objects that match at least one of the one or more variants. The method may additionally include determining that the number of the one or more objects exceeds the frequency threshold and classifying the first document with the object in the hierarchy.

Hierarchical data classification using frequency analysis

Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with linguistic tags for documents are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a document. The example method includes applying a language tag value to a language tag of the document and applying a locale tag value to a locale tag of the document. The language tag and the locale tag are assigned positions in a hierarchy of linguistic tags such that the language tag inherits from the locale tag. The example method may also include storing the document, the language tag value, and the locale tag value in a memory.
