The invention relates to a column having: a shell, which is extended along a longitudinal axis and encloses an interior of the column, at least one mass transfer tray, which is extended along a column cross section, extending transversely to the longitudinal axis, of the column, and at least one liquid distributor, which is designed to feed the at least one mass transfer tray with a liquid phase. In accordance with the invention, the mass transfer tray has a plurality of runoff elements extending parallel to and at a distance from one another, more particularly in the form of angular profiles, which are each extended along the column cross section, where the runoff elements each have first and second runoff surfaces extended along the column cross section, and where the two runoff surfaces converge along the longitudinal axis in the direction of the liquid distributor and meet, and in so doing form an edge extended along the column cross section, and where the liquid distributor is designed to apply the liquid phase to the edges of the runoff elements, so that the liquid phase applied to the respective runoff element flows off from the respective runoff element via the runoff surfaces at both sides of the respective edge.

Column with angular profiles

A process for removing a petroleum spirit fraction and also an oil fraction from a cracking gas stream in an oil scrub column, wherein, the ratio of the amount of substance of the petroleum spirit fraction recycled into the benzene section at the top per unit time to the amount of substance of the cracking gas introduced into the oil section per unit time is in a range from 1:16 to 1:10, preferably 1:12 to 1:10.

Process for the purification of a cracking gas stream in an oil scrub column

An oil scrub column having a petroleum spirit section and an oil section where each section has mass transfer trays having a plurality of runoff elements that extend parallel to and at a distance from one another, to form angular profiles. The runoff elements have first and second runoff surfaces that converge to form an edge. Scrubbing media introduced onto the edges of the runoff elements flows off via the runoff surfaces at both sides of the edge. The oil section has a greater number of mass transfer trays than the petroleum spirit section. The petroleum spirit section is shorter than the oil section. The mass transfer trays of the petroleum spirit section may be sieve trays, bubble trays or valve trays.

Oil scrubbing column

The invention relates to a column, with a jacket, extending along a longitudinal axis, which jacket bounds a first jacket space and a second jacket space arranged over it along the longitudinal axis, a chimney tray, extending crosswise to the longitudinal axis, that separates the two jacket spaces from one another. The at least a first chimney extends from the tray along the longitudinal axis, and projects into the second jacket space. The chimney has a peripheral wall defining an opening, via which the two jacket spaces are connected to one another for gas feed, and a chimney top. On the peripheral wall, a flat impact element is arranged tilted toward the longitudinal axis in such a way that a liquid phase flowing downward from the chimney top along the longitudinal axis strikes the flat impact element diminishing the momentum input of the liquid phase that stands on the chimney tray.

Column

The invention relates to a device (column) for bringing about a phase contact between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase, in particular a material exchange column, comprising: a shell, which extends along a longitudinal axis and bounds a shell space, at least a first circular tray, arranged in the shell space, for taking up the liquid phase, which extends crosswise to the longitudinal axis, whereby the at least one first tray has through openings for passage of a gaseous phase, so that the gaseous phase can come into phase contact with the liquid phase that is located on the at least one first tray. According to the invention, a large number of sealing weirs projecting from the first tray along the longitudinal axis are provided, which extend in each case along a radial direction of the at least one first tray, so that the first tray is divided into a corresponding plurality of sectors. In addition, the invention relates to an apparatus comprising such a device and a floatable carrier.

Device for bringing about a phase contact between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase, in particular a heat and mass transfer column

The invention relates to a process for separating off solid particles, in particular coke particles, from a water phase by means of gravity in a plant for generating hydrocarbons by cracking a hydrocarbonaceous feed, and also to a device for carrying out the process. In contrast to the prior art, the water phase is taken off predominantly from a point above the column bottom B via the outlet A. The first gravity separatorwhich is constructed as a multistage settling tankis situated not beneath, but next to, the scrubbing water column. The bottom phase of the scrubbing water columnalready acts as a part of the first gravity separator. Thus, via the outletin the column bottom B, a heavy water phase which is loaded with coke particles is already taken off and passed into the second gravity separator. This heavy water phase is further treated, together with the heavy water phase which is loaded with coke particles from the recessesof the multistage settling tank. In this embodiment of the invention, the feed rate into the multistage settling tankneed not be controlled as in the prior art. The multistage settling tankand the bottom phase of the quench columnform a communicating liquid system in which the same level of the water phase is established.

Process and device for separating off solid particles from a water phase

A collector-distributor combination in a column, which is filled with a random packed bed or with a structured packing, is disclosed. The liquid phase is guided over a collector with inclined planes to a central opening, which is connected to an ascending pipe, from which the liquid phase is distributed to the plane underneath via the distributor pipes. By guaranteeing a constant filling level of the liquid phase in the ascending pipe, the distributor functions as a pressure distributor. The liquid phase is distributed independent of the inclination of the column over the entire length of the distributor pipes. The gaseous phase passes through the collector via the chimney.

Collector-distributor combination

The invention describes a mass transfer column with at least one transfer tray via which liquid is routed in essentially the horizontal direction and through which gas is routed in the vertical direction. The transfer tray is designed as a reverse flow tray and a first separating weir () for changing the flow direction of the liquid flowing over the transfer tray by at least 90&#xb0;, especially by roughly 180&#xb0;. The transfer tray () is equipped with riser neck caps (), at least one guide weir () for routing the liquid flow, and at least one braking weir () for reducing the flow velocity. The transfer tray () is divided into sections () by the separating weir (), guide weirs (), braking weirs (), and column wall. The use of the riser neck caps () and weirs () with the resulting division of the transfer tray () into sections () ensures an almost uniform distribution of the liquid regardless of the tilt of the mass transfer column (). The described mass transfer column () is thus suitable especially for use under offshore conditions.

Transfer trays for mass transfer columns in offshore use

In a process for cleaning, cleaning a packed column utilized in a gas scrubbing operation wherein the packing is obstructed by solids formed during the scrubbing step, the obstructions are removed in a maximally economical fashion and without interrupting of normal operation. The packed column contains at least n, wherein n&gt;1, superimposed packed beds spatially separated from one another. During cleaning, the lowermost up to maximally the (n-1)th packed bed are flooded with scrubbing agent. Preferably, the packed column is used for scrubbing H.sub.2 S out of a feedgas mixture with an oxidative scrubbing agent wherein sulfur is formed during the scrubbing operation and deposited in the packed beds.
