Notification about Virtual Machine Live Migration to VNF Manager Various network systems may benefit from receiving notification about virtual live migration. For example, clustered telecommunication applications may benefit from live migration notifications of their virtual machines (VM). Such benefits may be achieved through technology known as Network Function Virtualization (NFV). According to certain embodiments, a method includes deciding that a virtual network function component should be moved from a first host to a second host. The method can also include notifying a virtual network function manager VNF about moving the virtual network function component. The method can further include moving the virtual network function component from the first host to the second host only when approval is received from the virtual network function manager. The method can also include notifying the virtual network function manager that the movement of the virtual network function component has been completed.

Waiting a host determined specific amount of time before performing virtual network function migration

There are provided measures for enabling/realizing efficient snapshot creation in virtual network environment, especially for ensuring creation of consistent snapshots in an automated manner. Such measures exemplarily comprise that a virtual manager entity provides a notification of requested snapshot creation of a resource of a virtual machine entity for the virtual machine entity, the virtual machine entity executes snapshot preparation processing in response to the snapshot creation notification from the virtual manager entity, and the virtual manager entity executes snapshot processing on the basis of a snapshot preparation result provided by the virtual machine entity.

Snapshot creation in virtual network environment

There are provided measures for enabling/realizing service continuity in a centralized service network system. Such measures exemplarily comprise detecting a deregistration request for deregistering a terminal with respect to a first switching entity from a registration in which the first switching entity is registered for the terminal as a contact point for centralized services, starting a waiting timer for waiting for a registration request for registering the terminal with respect to a second switching entity upon detection of said deregistration request, and re-registering the terminal in the registration such that the second switching entity is registered for the terminal as a contact point for centralized services upon detection of the registration request for registering the terminal with respect to the second switching entity before expiry of the waiting timer.
