The present invention relates to X-ray imaging. In order to improve the throughout of an X-ray imaging system, an apparatus is provided for managing an imaging workflow of an X-ray imaging system for an upcoming imaging sequence. The apparatus comprises an input unit, a processing unit, and an output unit. The input unit is configured to receive data including (i) a current temperature profile of an X-ray anode inside a tube housing of the X-ray imaging system, (ii) information about a heat capability and a cooling rate of the X-ray anode, (iii) information about a heat capability and a cooling rate of the tube housing, (iv) information about a current operation condition of the X-ray imaging system, and (v) information about a planned operation condition of the X-ray imaging system for the upcoming imaging sequence, wherein the planned operation condition comprises a sequence of planned scans, each planned scan being associated with a respective set of planned scan parameters. The processing unit is configured to determine, based on the received data, an estimated temperature profile of the X-ray anode under the planned operation condition for the upcoming imaging sequence. The processing unit is configured to compare the estimated temperature profile of the X-ray anode with a maximum allowable hardware temperature of the X-ray anode. In response to the determination that the estimated temperature profile is greater than or equal to the maximum allowable hardware temperature of the X-ray anode, the processing unit is configured to modify the planned operation condition such that the estimated temperature profile of the X-ray anode under the modified planned operation condition is less than the maximum allowable hardware temperature of the X-ray anode. The modified planned operation condition comprises a change of the sequence of planned scans and/or a change of the set of planned scan parameters for one or more planned scans. The output unit is configured to provide the modified planned operation condition for the upcoming imaging sequence.

The invention may improve image quality of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The invention is directed to a coil arrangement () for magnetic resonance imaging. It comprises a base structure having a variable shape, an RF coil arranged on or in the base structure, an actuator means at least partially extending along the base structure such that the base structure is deformable along and/or about at least one axis, a position detecting means adapted to detect a current position of at least a portion of the subject to be examined relative to the RF coil, and control means coupled to the position detecting means and the actuator means, wherein the control means is adapted to adjust the shape of the base structure to maintain a contact of an outer surface of the base structure () and/or the RF coil () with the at least portion of the subject by driving the actuator means in response to a detected change of the current position relative to a previous position. The anti-scatter filter comprises a plurality of realignable slats that absorb incident X-rays and are separated by a plurality of interstitial portions. The device also includes a first actively deformable member comprising a first set of one or more actively deformable actuators disposed across a first region of the first actively deformable member. At least a portion of the first set is partially or fully recessed within the interstitial portions. At least one actuator of the first set is in contact with a corresponding realignable slat of the plurality of realignable slats and is configured to change the alignment of the corresponding realignable slat in relation to the source-detector axis.

Adaptive anti-scatter device

The present invention relates to an apparatus () for generating X-ray imaging data. It is described to position () a first grating between an X-ray source and a second grating. The second grating is positioned () between the first grating and a third grating. A third grating is positioned () between the second grating and an X-ray detector. An object is positioned () between the first grating and the third grating. At least one of the three gratings has a pitch attribute of having a constant grating pitch. At least one of the three gratings has a pitch attribute of having a varying grating pitch. Both gratings of an adjacent pair of gratings are bent such that a distance between the two adjacent gratings is constant as a function of fan angle.
