A temperature measuring device for recording large changes in temperature, especially for recording the temperatures in an internal combustion engine. An NTC resistor is connected with a constant source of voltage via a dropping resistor and the drop in voltage across the NTC resistor is a gauge for the temperature. Because of the characteristics of the NTC resistor, measurement of low temperatures is possible with a high ohmic dropping resistor but accurate measurement of high temperatures is not possible. The opposite is true when using a low ohmic dropping resistor. In one embodiment of the disclosed device, it is possible to switch at a predetermined frequency the resistance of the dropping resistor circuit between a high ohmic and a low ohmic value, whereby the correspondingly produced output signal indicates the recorded temperature over the whole temperature range with a satisfactory degree of accuracy. Alternatively, the recorded temperature output signal may be fed to a comparer computer together with a control frequency to produce an output voltage with a probe ratio which is synchronized with the average recorded temperature thereby obtaining a greater gradient at the high and low temperature portions of the voltage versus temperature curve and more accurate measurement of high and low temperatures.

Temperature measuring device for recording large changes in temperature

A fuel injection arrangement for air-compressing, spontaneous-ignition, internal combustion engines. The arrangement includes at least one electromagnetic control valve via which a high-pressure channel of a fuel injection pump can be connected with a low-pressure channel. The control valve includes a valve body which is in the form of a piston valve, is spring-loaded, and is axially movable in a housing chamber which is provided with at least one connection on the high-pressure end, and with a connection on the low-pressure end. The piston valve is in operative connection with an electromagnetic adjusting device which can preferably be controlled by an electrically-operating data processor. The piston valve region on the high-pressure end is delimited by a valve seat and has a fixed diameter which corresponds to the diameter of the valve seat. The piston valve region on the low-pressure end has a diameter which is less than that of the piston valve region on the high-pressure end. The housing chamber taken in its entirety is sealed off in such a way as to be resistant to high pressure. The chambers on the low and high pressure ends can be connected by at least one line. The inventive fuel injection arrangement is characterized by an extremely stable behavior of the control valve and an absolute sealing in the closure position of the piston valve, so that the fuel injection arrangement itself is operational at the highest injection pressures.

Fuel injection arrangement for internal combustion engines

A fuel injection system, especially for air-compressing, spontaneous ignition reciprocating piston internal combustion engines. At least one parameter which characterizes the injection process, such as beginning and duration of the injection, is adapted to be regulated by at least one electromagnetic control valve per cylinder unit which can be controlled by an electrically operating data processor as a function of characteristic operating parameters of the internal combustion engine. In order to compensate for transmission deviations of the electromagnetic control valves caused by wear and operation, the control pulses of the data processor are transmitted to each electromagnetic control valve via a suitable circuit in such a way that the control valve opens and/or closes with a constant time delay during each control procedure. The constant time delay of the control valve can be established as a function of the actual speed of the internal combustion engine. The control time point of the control valve, as determined by the data processor, for opening and/or closing the control valve can be varied as a function of the constant time delay thereof.

Fuel injection system for internal combustion engines

A governor for adjusting a control-rod stop in a fuel-injection pump for an internal combustion engine. A controlling element is provided on the control-rod stop of the fuel injection pump, to which a throttled pressure fluid is fed, the discharge of which is controlled by a proportionally operating solenoid valve. An equilibrium prevails in the solenoid valve between the magnetic field applied to the solenoid armature and the compressive forces of the pressurized fluid. Depending on the magnitude of the respective forces, a larger or smaller discharge area can be unblocked thereby releasing or spilling the pressurized fluid.
