A package for photographic films wound into cartridges, where the package takes the form of a cylindrical tub consisting of two identical tub halves and a support ring over which the openings of the tub halves are pushed, whereby the support ring has a small height in comparison with the tub halves and tub halves and support ring are so designed that they are held together by snap-action connections, can be manufactured more quickly and with less material consumption, is capable of being stacked and also exhibits the advantages of known packages.

In an injection moulding tool for the production of a magnetic tape cassette casing constructed, in part, in two layers the apparatus has a fixed core (1a) provided, on the rim, with a projection (5) which provides a sealing strip relative to the moving core (2a). After the injection moulding process into the first mould cavity (4), the moving core (2a) is moved axially downwards by about half the wall thickness, whereupon the second mould cavity (3, 3') is filled by injection through a second needle shut-off nozzle (FIG. 1b).

Apparatus for two-layered injection moulding

An injection mould having several gating points (3) which are all supplied with moulding material at the same time has a hot runner manifold (2) situated in a composite body. The composite body is composed of several plates (9,11,12,13,9') in which both the system of hot runners (2) and the tubular heating elements (10) required for heating are formed, starting from the surfaces of separation (F1, F2, F3, F4), whereupon the individual surfaces are joined together by diffusion welding after they have been pretreated as required (FIG. 2).

Process for the manufacture of an injection mould

An injection moulding tool with optimum temperature distribution as the result of an improved tempering duct system is obtained if the tool inserts (10, 11) are each made up of two or more plates, tempering ducts (12, 12', 12') are worked in from the external faces (F1, F2, F3), on which the parts are subsequently joined by the diffusion welding method. An injection moulding tool for VHS reel hubs produced by this method produces moulds for injection moulding with substantially reduced wobble and a reduced cycle time.
