The invention relates to a cable connecting device for a connecting apparatus for the variable connection of cables, having a connecting module which has cable connecting elements for detachably connecting two cables, and having a module carrier which can be detachably connected to the connecting module and can be detachably fixed to a holding device of the connecting apparatus. The invention also relates to a connecting apparatus with a cable connecting device of this kind. In order to develop the connecting apparatus and the cable connecting device in such a way that mounting of said devices is simplified, with the connecting module being reliably held on the module carrier, it is proposed according to the invention that the connecting module can be inserted into a receiving passage in the module carrier in a mounting direction and can be latched to the module carrier in a latching position.

A coupling with two sleeves facing in opposite directions for the plugs of two shielded data cables that are to be connected to each other is in particular configured as an RJ 45 coupling. A printed circuit board () carries a contact assembly for each of the sleeves and connects the corresponding contacts () with each other. Two partial shells () made of an electrically insulating material envelop and hold the printed circuit board (). An electrically conductive housing () is essentially U-shaped, with its longitudinal axis extending in the plug-in direction of the sleeves. The partial shells (), together with the printed circuit board () they envelop, are insertable in the housing () as modules and can be attached firmly in the housing (). An electrically conductive sheet metal cover () covers the modules on the open side of the housing () and engages with molded contacting prongs () in the sleeves for the purpose of contacting the shields of the plugs inserted into the sleeves.

Coupling

The invention relates to an electrical socket with a housing, which has a space for inserting a connector and surrounds a contact module which comprises a number of electrical conductors and contact elements which can be contacted by associated plug contacts of the connector, two conductors respectively forming a pair of conductors. To develop the electrical socket in such a way that it can be produced at low cost and the risk of signal coupling between different pairs of conductors is reduced, it is proposed according to the invention that the contact module comprises a multi-layer circuit board which has compensation capacitors for the capacitive coupling of conductors of different pairs of conductors and means for inductive counter-coupling, in that at least the conductors of two pairs of conductors form conductor tracks in such a way that, in a first conductor track section, the distance of a first conductor track of the first pair of conductors from the first conductor track of the second pair of conductors is less than the distance from the second conductor track of the second pair of conductors, whereas, in the second conductor track section, the distance of the first conductor track of the first pair of conductors from the second conductor track of the second pair of conductors is less than from the first conductor track of the second pair of conductors.
