The present invention relates to a method for operating a security device, comprising a housing with at least one current-carrying element, wherein the current-carrying element is arranged in the housing interior and is enclosed by the housing. A particle detector is arranged in the housing interior, which monitors the housing interior with respect to the formation of particles.

A micromechanical thermal-conductivity sensor is provided which includes a thermally insulated diaphragm formed by a recess in a base plate exhibiting poor thermal conductivity. At least one heating element is applied on the diaphragm, at least one temperature-dependent electrical resistor is applied on the diaphragm for measuring the temperature of the diaphragm, as well as at least one further temperature-dependent electrical resistor is applied outside of the diaphragm on the base plate for measuring the ambient temperature. On one or both of its sides, the diaphragm is covered by a porous cover plate permitting gas exchange by diffusion, a cavity being left open between the diaphragm and the porous cover plate.

A device for generating infrared radiation includes at least one heating element and at least one radiating element for irradiating the infrared radiation. The heating element is a micromechanical, two-dimensional heater structure. The heating element may be applied on the radiating element using hybrid technology such that the radiation element has at least one side facing the heating element and at least one side facing away. The radiating element may be ceramic substrate.

A device for detecting a deformation of a component, for example, in the automotive industry, having a deformable hollow body arrangement assigned as a deformation indicator to the component and having at least one orifice area, and at least one sensor device situated in the particular orifice area for measuring an air flow corresponding to the deformation of the hollow body arrangement. In addition, a method of detecting such a deformation of a component and activating an appropriate safety application is described. The measured data is analyzed by an analyzer unit after measurement of the deformation, and a suitable safety application optionally being activated if the measured data of the at least one sensor device indicates a deformation of hollow body arrangement and thus of the component.
