A wiping device for windows of power vehicles comprises a wiping member, a drive providing a rotary movement, a swinging transmission connected with the drive and having link parts including one link part which has a drive shaft carrying the wiping member, and a hinge which connects the link parts with one another, the hinge having a hinge pin which is mounted on one of the link parts, while another of the link parts has a pin bearing in which the hinge pin is supported, and a unit for adjusting an effective link length and including a guiding path which extends eccentrically to an axis of the pin bearing and at least partially surrounds the latter, and a counter guide provided on the other link part which carries the pin bearing, the path being formed as a portion of an Archimedes spiral.

A wiper device for a windshield of a vehicle comprising a wiper arm, a drive for oscillating the wiper arm, and an elongate flexible torsion rigid member for transmitting an oscillating movement of the wiper arm into pivotal movement of the wiping blade about an axis spaced from the windshield and extending substantially parallel thereto, the elongate flexible torsion rigid member including a fixed end having a longitudinal axis extending to the pivot axis of a pivot shaft attached to the other end of the elongate flexible member and connected to the wiping blade, at an angle less than 180.degree., and extending to the axis of a wiper shaft at an angle less than 90.degree., the pivot axis of the pivot shaft being a continuation of the longitudinal axis of the other end of the elongate flexible member.

A windshield wiper device includes an oscillating wiper blade supported on a wiper arm which oscillates together with the wiper blade on the windshield to be wiped and is connected with a drive which imparts to the wiper arm a longitudinal displacement during the oscillating motion. The drive includes a gear, a stationary toothed segment meshed with the gear, and a crank mechanism having a crank and a driving rod connected to the crank. An intermediate drive is provided between a reciprocating element connected to the wiper arm and the driving rod of the drive to enlarge a path of the translatory movement of the driving rod.

A wiping device for windows of power vehicles, comprises a swingably movable wiping lever, a swinging shaft having a swinging axis, a guiding piece connected with the swinging shaft, an elongated lifting element which is radially displaceable relative to the swinging axis, the lifting element having an end which faces away from the swinging axis, a wiper arm articulately connected with the side of the lifting element, a wiping blade arranged on the wiper arm, a spring element arranged to press the wiping blade against a pane to be wiped, so that the wiping blade is subjected via the wiper blade to a swinging movement and via the lifting element to a displacement movement which is superposed upon the swinging movement and extends transversely to the swinging movement, the lifting element being provided with a movable abutment shoulder which extends transverse to its direction of elongation, the guiding piece having a rear counter shoulder as considered in directional movement of the lifting element and cooperating with the abutment shoulder, the abutment shoulder abutting against the counter shoulder and being in working connection with the wiping blade so that its relative movement relative to the wiping blade acts upon the wiping blade against a pressing action of the spring element.

A windshield wiper system for motor vehicles includes a wiper blade supported on an oscillating and reciprocating wiper arm driven by a plunger guided in a guide during its reciprocal movement and provided with a compensating hinge and supported by two parallel slides guided on two elongated guide rails parallel to the axis of elongation of the plunger. In order to compensate for alignment errors each slide is movable relative to the plunger about the axis of the compensating hinge.

A wiper device for wiping panes of motor vehicles includes a wiper having an oscillating arm and a blade positioned against the pane, and a drive for, imparting the oscillating movement to the wiper. To synchronously influence the wiper in its oscillating movement a transmitting pulling rope drive is provided, which is connected to the oscillation drive and cooperates with the wiper arm. In dependence upon the angle included between the blade in its reverse position and the blade in its respective operative position the wiper blade can be adjusted to predetermined operational conditions.
