Exhaust gas system for a hydrogen combustion engine

A heating system for a vehicle includes a reaction space () containing a first reactant () and a reactant storage space () containing or/and receiving a second reactant (), wherein the first reactant and the second reactant form such a reaction system. A reaction of the first reactant with the second reactant produces a reaction product that releases heat. The second reactant can be separated from the first reactant by introducing heat into the reaction product. A reactant-releasing device () releases second reactant from the reactant storage space into the reaction space (). A first heat removal device () removes heat from the first reactant or/and reaction product contained in the reaction space (). A heating unit () heats the first reactant or/and heats the reaction product contained in the reaction space. The disclosure is directed to an exhaust gas heating unit for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas heating unit includes at least one electrically conductive heating conductor element, wherein the at least one electrically conductive heating conductor element is configured from bent flat strip material. The exhaust gas system conducts exhaust gas defining an exhaust gas primary flow direction (H). The heating conductor element can have a plurality of broad sides arranged to be substantially parallel to the exhaust gas primary flow direction (H) and a plurality of end faces arranged substantially orthogonally to the exhaust gas primary flow direction (H).

Exhaust gas heating unit

A heating unit for an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a heating-unit housing for conducting an exhaust-gas in a main flow direction. A plurality of heating elements are arranged in the heating-unit housing and are shaped in a meandering manner. Each heating element has a plurality of plate-like heating sections which follow one another in a heating-element longitudinal direction. The heating sections of each heating element are connected to one another via respective connecting sections. Each heating element has two connection regions which are arranged at a distance from one another. In each connection region, the heating elements are electrically conductively connected to a connection region of a further heating element.

An exhaust gas heating unit for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a jacket heating conductor element () with a jacket () and with an electrical heating conductor (). Exhaust gas heating element

An exhaust gas heating arrangement includes a heating unit having a jacketed heating element having a jacket and at least one heating conductor which extends in the jacket and is surrounded by insulating material. The heating unit is spirally wound surrounding a longitudinal center axis (L), wherein a radially inner winding end region of the heating unit is offset with respect to a radially outer winding end region of the heating unit in the direction towards the longitudinal center axis (L).

Exhaust gas/reactant mixing assembly unit

An exhaust gas heating unit for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a jacket heating conductor element () including a jacket () and with an electrical heating conductor (), which extends in the jacket and is enclosed by insulating material (). A heat transfer surface formation () is arranged on, and in heat transfer contact with, an outer side of the jacket. The heat transfer surface formation includes a heat transfer element with a meandering extent along the jacket heating conductor element with a plurality of heat transfer element sections (), which pass over into one another in bent areas () and are arranged following one another in a longitudinal direction of the jacket heating conductor element. Each heat transfer element section in association with the jacket heating conductor element has a passage opening (), through which the jacket heating conductor element passes.

A process for manufacturing an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine includes the steps: a) providing at least one exhaust gas-carrying component () for the exhaust system (); b) applying a basic material layer () to at least one area of a surface of at least one of the exhaust gas-carrying components () in a high-temperature application process; and c) applying a catalytically active material layer () to the basic material layer () in a low-temperature application process.

Process for manufacturing an exhaust system and exhaust system

An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, especially in a vehicle, includes an exhaust gas flow duct (), a reactant release device () for the release of reactant (R) into the exhaust gas flow duct () and a catalytic converter device () downstream of the reactant release device (). At least one part of a component surface is provided by a hydrophilic material () of at least one exhaust gas-carrying component () positioned in the reactant flow path or/and defining this reactant flow path, or/and at least one part of the component surface is provided by a hydrophobic material () of at least one exhaust gas-carrying component () positioned in the reactant flow path.

Exhaust system

A mixing device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a mixing section () with a mixing section inlet area () to be positioned downstream in relation to a reactant introduction device (). A mixing section outlet area () is positioned upstream in relation to a catalytic converter device (). The mixing section () includes an inner wall () surrounding an inner volume (), through which exhaust gas (A) or/and reactant (R) can flow, and an outer wall () surrounding the inner wall (). Mixing device

An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, especially for a vehicle, includes an exhaust gas-carrying pipe () and a reactant release unit () for releasing reactant (R) into exhaust gas (A) flowing in the exhaust gas-carrying pipe (). The reactant release unit () includes a reactant injection unit (), a reactant delivery unit () delivering reactant (R) from a reactant reservoir to the reactant injection unit () and a heating unit () for heating reactant (R) being delivered to the reactant injection unit (). The heating unit () includes an exhaust gas/reactant heat exchanger unit () for transferring heat, being transported in the exhaust gas (A), to the reactant (R).

Exhaust system for an internal combustion engine and method for operating an exhaust system

A muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, especially for vehicles with hybrid drive, includes a muffler housing (), a heat exchanger unit (), arranged in the muffler housing (), for transferring heat from combustion exhaust gas to a heat transfer medium, an inlet pipe (), a first outlet pipe () and a second outlet pipe (). A first exhaust gas flow path (), in the muffler housing, routs exhaust gas through the heat exchanger unit () to the first outlet pipe ().
