A locking assembly for the telescopic jib of a crane, or mobile crane, includes a plurality of telescopic sections wherein locking pins are supported in an inner telescopic section and are biased outwardly by means of a spring for engagement within receiving apertures in an outer telescopic section surrounding the inner telescopic section. A release device is provided for engaging the inner end of a locking pin in order to release the locked position thereof against the spring biased. Preferably two locking pin are provided for each locking unit and are disposed on the inner telescopic section so that they will engage two oppositely located receiving apertures in the vertical side webs of the outer telescopic section. The engagement of the locking pins is located in the middle portion of the side webs where bending stresses are minimal, so that any weakening of the telescopic sections caused by the provision of the locking pin mounting structure and pin receiving portions will have negligible effect on the bending strength of the jib.

Apparatus for fixing the angular position of two telescopic parts relative to each other, comprising a stopper arranged on the first telescopic part and an adjuster provided with a shiftable element arranged on the second telescopic part. The adjuster comprises a piston/cylinder unit arranged on the inner telescopic part, which may be actuated by fluid supply and discharge, as well as an arrangement and method for fixing two telescopic parts of a crane jib.

The invention relates to a slide mount for telescopic parts, more particularly for crane jibs, including a slipper arranged between the sliding surface areas of the telescopic parts, the slipper being configured so that it is held in place by a wedge effect between the telescopic parts, and the slipper including on its inner and/or outer surface area longitudinal grooves receiving compensating, spacer elements, preferably, elongated strips.

Then, movement of the second section is arrested using at least one sliding element connected and moveable with respect to the second section. The sliding element is disposed between the first and second sections, and arrests movement of the second section with respect to the first section when in an arresting position.

A telescopic jib includes a base part, and at least one telescopic part telescoped in the base part. A shift mechanism extends and retracts each telescopic part. The base part and each telescopic part includes an upper semi-box shaped section part, and at least one of the base part and the telescopic part includes a lower section part having shell segments adjoining each other. Each shell segment has an outwardly curved shape.

A boom collar for an outer telescopic boom section of a telescopic boom includes a tension belt forming at least a bottom surface and first and second curved corner portions of the collar. First and second sliders are disposed in the first and second curved corner portions, respectively, and the first and second sliders translate along the tension belt about a longitudinal axis of the said telescopic boom. First and second webs are connected to either side of the tension belt, and prevent the first and second sliders from moving in a direction of the longitudinal axis.

A telescoping crane arm assembly includes a base body; a power cylinder extendable from and retractable into the base body; a plurality of crane arm segments extendable from and retractable into one another and the base body; a first mechanism coupling the power cylinder to the crane arm segments for extending the crane arm segments as a unit from the base body when the power cylinder moves from a retracted position into an extended position relative to the base body; and a second mechanism coupling the power cylinder to the crane arm segments for extending the crane arm segments relative to one another when the power cylinder moves from an extended position into a retracted position relative to the base body.
