A method for producing a profiled bead made of a plastic, particularly of a polymer, on a piece, particularly on a window pane. In the method at least a partial portion of an edge region or lateral face region of a surface of the piece is brought into contact with a forming face. The plastic is deposited stuck to at least part of the periphery of a surface of the piece untouched by the forming face and the external dimensions of the profiled bead formed are also defined by the forming face. The forming face is pressed against the edge region or lateral face region of the fixed piece using a flat support, the shape of which can vary under the pressure of a fluid. This then gives a better matching of the forming face to the contour and to any dimensional discrepancies of the piece.

Method and device for producing a profiled rim on a component, and glazing provided with a profiled rim

A window pane (), in particular an automobile window pane, is adhesively bonded to a frame () of a window opening by an adhesive bead (), and carries a profiled bead () provided with a recess () extending longitudinally and a tear-away cord () laid therein. Tear-away cord () is designed for breaking the adhesive bond between window pane () and frame (). A contact surface is provided for adhesive bead () alongside profiled bead (). In the fitted state, recess () is open toward adhesive bead () so that the tear-away cord may be pulled without exerting a high force directly in the adhesive bead that abuts the opening of the recess.

A device is provided for assembling a fixed-mount vehicle window glass, particularly a windshield, with a component contiguous with one edge of the vehicle window glass, such as a water tray. A profiled part is fixed to the edge of the window glass. Adjustable glazing for motor vehicles

A method and apparatus for extruding a plastic spacer directly on an object, in particular on the periphery of window glazing, such as automobile glazing intended to be glued into the opening of a vehicle. In particular the invention relates to properly producing the connection zone between the end and the beginning of the extruded spacer when it forms a closed loop. According to the invention the beginning of the spacer and the remainder of the loop are extruded, with the exception of the connection zone. The object is then provided with an applied anti-adhesive deposit surface that is continuous with the surface of the object. The path of the extrusion head is diverted in relation to the surface of the object so that the extrusion occurs on the applied deposit surface, proximate to and beyond the beginning of the spacer loop. The extruded spacer is then allowed to harden and the extremities of the spacer are cut and adjusted to properly complete the connection. After extrusion, the applied deposit surface may be eliminated or neutralized and the spacer, whose path was diverted on the surface of the object, is glued in position to complete the connection zone.
