The disclosure relates to a sample vessel including a cavity for accommodating a sample, a first opening for introducing the sample and a bottom opposite the first opening as well as at least one additional opening of the cavity. According to the disclosure, the at least one additional opening opens toward the outside of the cavity on the side of the cavity opposing the bottom. The disclosure further relates to a carrier plate, an evacuation needle, as well as a method for evacuating a sample.

An adapter assembly for receiving a capillary includes a passage, into which the capillary is or can be received. The adapter assembly has an adapter cone which is configured for being received in or on a correspondingly configured counter cone. The adapter cone, at least over a section for bringing the adapter cone into contact with the counter cone, includes an elastic material that is more elastic than the material of the counter cone. An apparatus and a method for the automated processing of samples containing biological cells&#x2014;in particular, of blood samples or other cell samples is provided. The apparatus has a sample receiving device configured to receive samples, an auxiliary material receiving device configured to receive auxiliary materials, a sample carrier receiving device configured to receive sample carriers, a discharge device configured to discharge samples from a discharge position, and a capture device configured to capture discharged samples in a capture position to obtain prepared samples, and at least one temperature control device for controlling the temperature of at least one of the sample carriers. Apparatus for processing samples containing biological cells

The method comprises an automated removal of cells and/or cell colonies from a cell culture whilst executing a first detection step for selecting cells and/or cell colonies with reference to corporeal and/or physical parameters and detecting position data and storing the detected position data of the selected cells and/or cell colonies in a position database. In order to be able to select special cells and/or cell colonies having special properties from the detected cells and/or cell colonies, at least one second detection step for detecting at least one further parameter of the cells and/or cell colonies is then executed, comparative data from the data of the first and second detection step are created, cells and/or cell colonies are selected with reference to the comparative data and the position data from the position database are transferred to a harvesting unit.
