The invention relates to a sliding bearing composite comprising a carrier layer made of steel, an intermediate layer arranged on the carrier layer and made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy that is lead-free except for impurities, and a bearing metal layer arranged on the intermediate layer and made of an aluminum alloy that is lead-free except for impurities. Said aluminum alloy contains 6.0-10.0 wt. % tin, 2.0-4.0 wt. % silicon, 0.7-1.2 wt. % copper, 0.15-0.25 wt. % chromium, 0.02-0.20 wt. % titanium, 0.1-0.3 wt. % vanadium and optionally less than 0.5 wt. % other elements, the remaining portion being aluminum.

The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material, comprising a supporting layer () made of steel, a bearing metal layer () made of copper or a copper alloy, which is applied to the supporting layer (), and a functional layer () made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, which is applied to the bearing metal layer ().

Plain bearing composite material

A bearing having improved wear resistance has a bearing material of a copper-tin-bismuth alloy which may also include phosphorus which has excellent strength, due to the solid solution of copper, tin and phosphorus (when used), attached to a steel backing shell. The material also has good lubricity as a result of the presence of the bismuth which also promotes tin mobilization and formation of a layer of tin on the bearing surface upon use of the bearing. The addition of small amounts of relatively small hard particles in the copper-tin-matrix, particularly FeP, MoSior a mixture thereof, provides a suitable hard surface artifact to improve the wear resistance of the bearing material. The bearing includes a sintered powder compact bearing material of a copper-tin-bismuth alloy powder and a metal compound powder which is bonded to a steel backing shell, wherein the metal compound powder has an average particle size of less than 10 &#x3bc;m.

The present invention relates to a method for producing bearing shells of plain bearings, in which the bearing shells are blasted with corundum particles on the bearing metal side, in order in this way to produce residual compressive stresses in the blasted side of the bearing shell. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a bearing shell produced using such a method.

The invention relates to gudgeon pin bushes which find application in highly-stressed engines, with the problem of a tendency to pit, in particular in the middle regions (with relation to the radial axis of the bush), on starting the motor. According to the invention, the problem can be avoided whereby the friction surfaces of a gudgeon pin bush, at least in the high loading region, have the following parameters measured over the bush cross-section in the axial direction: the support percentage is a minimum of 99.0% to a depth of at most 1.800 m, the depth of the roughness core profile is at most 0.30 m, the proportion of the material Mr1 of the roughness core profile is at most 8%. The gudgeon pin bush can be obtained by finishing the bearing surface of the gudgeon pin bush using a surface machining method.

Existing devices for vacuum coating substrates having different shapes, either in continuous or hatch facilities, are equipped in such a way that several coatings are applied after a coating process. The slide bearings are to be coated with several coats and the coating materials used and the conditions related thereto require the use of several coating techniques. This relates inter alia to conveyance parameters. Existing facilities fail to meet these requirements. According to the invention, such a device comprises several aligned processing chambers. Slide bearings which are held together by positive and non-positive fit in tempered carrier bodies are displaced through said chambers comprising pretreatment, atomization and evaporation chambers using a conveyance system adapted to this process. A tempering device for the carrier bodies is connected upstream from the coating track. Corresponding inlet and outlet channels enable air-to-air conveyance.

A composite multilayer material and a method for the production thereof are described which are suitable for bearing points subject to mixed friction, said material being corrosion-resistant and cold-formable and capable of withstanding extremely high loads. According to the method, the backing material is preheated to a temperature of 1000&deg; C. to 1100&deg; C., a heterogeneously developing, lead-free copper-zinc- or copper-aluminum-based bearing alloy at a temperature of from 1000&deg; C. to 1250&deg; C. is cast thereon, and the composite multilayer material is cooled from the casting temperature of the bearing alloy to 100&deg; C. within 2 to 4 minutes. Stratified composite material for sliding elements and method for the production thereof

A plain bearing overlay (,) of which exhibits properties which are markedly improved with regard to wear resistance in comparison with overlays applied by electroplating and conventional electron beam vapor deposition methods. The surface of the overlay (,) comprises round raised portions (,) and depressed portions (,), wherein, in relation to the horizontal section plane (,), the raised portions (,) cover a proportion of the surface area amounting to 30% to 50%, based on the entire surface area of the plain bearing, the section plane (,) being at a height at which the total proportion of the surface area consisting of the raised portions (,), and obtained in vertical section, is equal to the total corresponding proportion consisting of the depressed portions (,). The round raised portions exhibit a diameter D of 3 to 8 &mgr;m, in plan view, wherein, in the case of raised portions (,) and depressed portions (,) which in plan view are not circular, this value relates to the maximum diameter. The surface exhibits a roughness of R,&equals;3 to 7 &mgr;m. The method of producing such plain bearings is based on electron beam vapor deposition, wherein a backing member with a roughness of R,23 2 &mgr;m is used and vapor deposition of the overlay is effected at a pressure <0.1 Pa.

Plain bearing and method for the production thereof

A plain bearing is described, the overlay (3) of which exhibits properties which are markedly improved with regard to wear resistance in comparison with overlays applied by electroplating and conventional electron beam vapor deposition methods. The surface of the overlay (3) comprises round raised portions (4) and depressed portions (6), wherein, in relation to the horizontal section plane (7), the raised portions (4) cover a proportion of the surface area amounting to 30% to 50%, based on the entire surface area of the plain bearing, the section plane (7) being at a height at which the total proportion of the surface area consisting of the raised portions (4), and obtained in vertical section, is equal to the total corresponding proportion consisting of the depressed portions (6). The round raised portions exhibit a diameter D of 3 to 8 .mu.m, in plan view, wherein, in the case of raised portions (4) and depressed portions (6) which in plan view are not circular, this value relates to the maximum diameter. The surface exhibits a roughness of R.sub.z =3 to 7 .mu.m. The method of producing such plain bearings is based on electron beam vapour deposition, wherein a backing member with a roughness of R.sub.z .ltoreq.2 .mu.m is used and vapor deposition of the overlay is effected at a pressure &lt;0.1 Pa.
