The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing an optical device by means of a replication method comprising the steps of: a) filling a gap between a substrate and a mold with a liquid light-transmissive polymeric material, b) curing the polymeric material to obtain a replica layer, c) removing the mold. In order to manufacture optical devices, such as lenses having a larger NA-value, it is proposed according to the present invention that the replication method is repeated at least two times while using the same or different molds, and that the substrate, together with one or more replica layers obtained during one or more previous runs of the replication method, is used as a substrate for the next run of the replication method.

Method of manufacturing an optical device by means of a replication method

The invention relates to a camera device and a method for manufacturing such a device. The camera device comprises an image capturing element, a lens element for imaging an object at the image capturing element and a spacer means for maintaining a predetermined distance along the main optical axis though the lens and the image capturing element, and lens substrate for carrying the lens wherein the spacer means comprises an adhesive layer. This enables a mass manufacturing process wherein parts of the individual camera elements can be manufactured in manifold on different substrates, after which the different substrates are stacked, aligned and joined via adhesive layers. In the manufacturing process the different distances between the plates and the wafers are adjusted and maintained via the spacer means comprising the adhesive layers. From the stack individual camera devices are sawn out.

Method in which a magnetic head unit is manufactured from a magnetic head and a support. The magnetic head is manufactured by providing a thin-film magnetic head structure with a ground conductor on an electrically conducting substrate. Before the magnetic head is secured to the support, an electrically insulating layer present on an outer side of the substrate is removed, whereafter an electrically conducting contact layer (39) is formed on the surface obtained. By securing the magnetic head to the support, the contact layer will be in contact with parts (43a, 43b) of the support for the purpose of grounding the support.

Method of manufacturing a magnetic head unit

A magnetic head has a contact face (2) for a magnetic tape which can be moved in a direction (V) along the face (2). A transfer gap (3) lies in a region (6) of the contact face (2), which is curved into a concave shape in the direction of movement (V). On either side of this region (6) there are located regions (7, 8) curved into a convex shape in the direction of movement (V). The contact face (2) is curved into a convex shape transverse to the direction of movement (V). Due to the shape of the contact face (2), an information carrier exerts only a low pressure on and near the transfer gap (3), as a result of which the degree of wear is low at this area and the life of the magnetic head is long.
