Aspects of the disclosure relate to counterbalance systems for catwalk systems, and related methods. A counterbalance system pulls a trough of a catwalk system while actuating the catwalk system. A catwalk system includes a chassis, a main arm pivotably coupled to the chassis, a trough pivotably coupled to the chassis and having one or more rollers, a V-door ramp pivotably coupled to the chassis, and a counterbalance system coupled to the trough at a coupling point. The counterbalance system includes a first sheave suspended from the V-door ramp, a second sheave suspended from the first sheave, and a counterbalance rope wound at least partially about the first sheave and the second sheave. A first end of the counterbalance rope is coupled to the trough at the coupling point.

Counterbalance systems and related methods for catwalk systems

A system configured to predict and optimize operating life of a piece of drilling equipment includes a plurality of operating sensors coupled to a piece of drilling equipment, wherein each of the operating sensors is configured to measure an operating condition of the piece of drilling equipment. A control system in communication with the operating sensors is configured to calculate an operating life of the piece of equipment based on the operating conditions.

A tubular handling system has a trough with two exterior channels and an interior channel disposed between the two exterior channels. The two exterior channels and the interior channel are disposed along a longitudinal length of the trough and are configured to support at least one tubular. The tubular handling system also has a set of exterior kickers configured to move the tubular from one of the exterior channels to the interior channel and from one of the exterior channels to a position out of the trough. The tubular handling system has an interior kicker configured to move the tubular from the interior channel to one of the exterior channels.

A traverse actuating and gripping system configured to move a catwalk relative to a support structure. The system includes a body, an upper gripping pad coupled to the body and configured to contact a side of a support member of the support structure, a lower gripping pad coupled to the body and configured to contact an opposing side of the support member, and an actuator coupled to at least one of the gripping pads and configured to move the gripping pads between a gripping position that grips the support member and an open position that spaces one of the gripping pads away from the support member.

Floating traverse system

A tubular handling system comprising a catwalk having a trough, a tailing member coupled to the trough, and a catcher coupled to the tailing member. The catcher is moveable relative to the tailing member. The system further includes a support structure coupled to the tailing member at one end and coupled to the trough at an opposite end. The support structure is configured to move the tailing member relative to the trough to guide a tubular from a substantially horizontal or slightly angled position to a substantially vertical position.

Tubular handling system

In one embodiment, a traverse system configured to move a catwalk relative to a beam, is provided. The system includes a body, an upper brake pad coupled to the body and configured to contact a side of a flange of the beam and a lower brake pad coupled to the body and configured to contact an opposing side of the flange, and an actuator coupled to at least one of the brake pads and configured to move the brake pads between a gripping position that grips the flange and an open position that spaces one of the brake pads away from the flange.
