This invention reveals the pharmaceutical composition that includes the surface antigen (HBsAg) of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and the antigen of the nucleocapsid (or core, HBcAg) of the same virus. The HBcAg of this composition contains messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) at a proportion of over 45% of the total amount of ribonucleic acid (RNA) in this antigen. Because of the changes in the constitution of the antigens forming it, the composition of the invention is useful for the prevention or treatment of chronic hepatitis B. It also covers the use of this pharmaceutical composition in the production of a drug for immuno-prophylaxis or immunotherapy against HBV infection, and its use to increase the immune response against an additional antigen that is co-administered with the mixture of these antigens.

Pharmaceutical composition that includes the surface and nucleocapsid antigens of the hepatitis B virus

The present invention is related to the use of the growth hormone releasing peptide-6 (GHRP-6) for the manufacture of a late cardioprotective and cardiac restoration medicament. Said late cardioprotective and cardiac restoration medicament comprises GHRP-6 and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or vehicle. It also provides a method for the treatment of a disease that involves a low cardiac output, wherein a therapeutically effective amount of a late cardioprotective and cardiac restoration medicament comprising GHRP-6 is administered to a subject in need. Said medicament allows treating in a late manner, even days later, the myocardium that suffered episodes of stunning, hibernation, ischemia and its consequences thereof.

Vaccine compositions that comprise at least one antigen based on the dengue virus (DV) capsid protein and the oligonucleotide identified as SEQ ID NO 1. The present invention is related to the use of secretagogue peptides repeatedly administered as part of a pharmaceutical composition that prevent and eradicate the deposition of pathological fibrotic material in parenchymal tissues of internal organs like the liver, lungs, esophagus, small intestine, kidneys, blood vessels, joints, and other systemic forms of cutaneous fibrosis of any etiopathogenesis. Additionally, these peptides prevent and eradicate deposition of amiloid and hyaline materials in any of their correspondent chemical forms and tissue manifestations in the brain, cerebellum, blood vessels, liver, intestines, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, joints and the skin, among others. The present invention is related to the development of peptides derived from the sequence HYRIKPTFRRLKWKYKGKFW (SEQ ID NO.: 13), showing amino acid substitutions, these peptides unable to bind to the lipopolysaccharides and bearing anti-tumoral and immunomodulatory capacities. These peptides alone or in combination are useful to treat cancer, and also in synergy with conventional therapies.

The invention relates to the use of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) in a preferably-injectable pharmaceutical composition which is administered by means of infiltration into and around chronic cutaneous ischaemic lesions in order to prevent diabetic foot amputation. Said composition can be administered to recently-created surgical surfaces damaged by the effect of acute reperfusion with oxygenated blood following prolonged ischaemia, thereby preventing further surgical procedures and favouring the preservation of the extremity. Said composition can be used for recalcitrant ulcers which are associated with lesions in the macro and/or microvasculature, patients with inadequate lymphatic and/or venous return and ulcers or other lesions which are difficult to cicatrise and/or heal.

Methods for enhancing healing of diabetic foot ulcers by injecting epidermal growth factor (EGF)

The present invention is related to the branch of medicine, particularly to the new formulations of vaccine antigens. The technical objective pursued with the present invention is, precisely, the development of formulations that are able to enhance the immune response to mucosally administered antigens, minimising the number of compounds in the formulation and generating strong mucosal and systemic responses through a synergic interaction between the antigens in the formulation. These formulations enable: a) to broaden the spectrum of the anti-hepatitis B immune response, containing as main compounds HBsAg and HBcAg, b) to enhance the response against HBsAg with a viral nucleocapsid c) to generate combined vaccines through the mucosal route with HBsAg as a central antigen. Stabilizers and preservatives can be introduced. The formulations of this invention can be applied in the pharmaceutical industry as human or veterinary vaccine formulations.
