A guide for supporting a device in a flow of coolant includes a deflector for modifying the coolant flow. The guide include apertures so that the coolant can flow over both the upper and lower faces of a device, for example a printed circuit board

Flow guide

A cooling apparatus for cooling an electrical device using a flow of coolant comprises a cooling unit . The cooling unit is in contact with the device and includes a channel for transporting the coolant past the device . In a preferred embodiment, the sectional area of the channel decreases between the inlet and the outlet of the channel . The velocity of the flow of coolant past the device can be modified, thus improving the efficiency of cooling.

Cooling devices

Cooling apparatus is used to cool equipment, for example electrical equipment, using a fan. In an embodiment described, the cooling apparatus comprises a duct for communication with the fan and for transporting air past the equipment. The duct may include a diffuser for improving the air flow in the duct.

Cooling equipment

An electromagnetic flow meter and method of operating the same. There is provided a flow measurement duct, a magnetic circuit including pole pieces for generating a magnetic field in fluid flowing in a direction in the duct across the direction of flow, and an electrical circuit including at least one sensing electrode for measuring a voltage thereby induced in the fluid to provide an output indicative of the flow. The method comprises measuring a series of pairs of outputs of the electrical circuit, each pair of outputs comprising an output when the magnetic field is present and an output when the magnetic field is absent, and determining from the measured series of pairs of outputs whether fluid is present or absent in the duct.
