Systems and methods for managing interactive object input are disclosed. An interactive object can include sensors configured to generate sensor data indicative of movement associated with a user of the interactive object. Movement data can be analyzed to detect an attachment of a user to the interactive object and/or a separation of a user from the interactive object. State data indicative of a state of the interactive object relative to the user device can be generated in response detecting a separation of a user from the interactive object. The user device can be disabled, based on the state data, from initiating one or more functions in response to input received at the interactive object.

User movement detection for verifying trust between computing devices

This document describes techniques using, and objects embodying, an interactive fabric which is configured to sense user interactions in the form of single or multi-touch-input (e.g., gestures). The interactive fabric may be integrated into a wearable interactive garment (e.g., a jacket, shirt, or pants) that is coupled (e.g., via a wired or wireless connection) to a gesture manager. The gesture manager may be implemented at the interactive garment, or remote from the interactive garment, such as at a computing device that is wirelessly paired with the interactive garment and/or at a remote cloud based service. Generally, the gesture manager recognizes user interactions to the interactive fabric, and in response, triggers various different types of functionality, such as answering a phone call, sending a text message, creating a journal entry, and so forth.

A method and system for illustrating textual content is provided. The method may include identifying textual content to be illustrated, finding at least one illustration corresponding to the context associated with the textual content, and presenting a graphical story combining the textual content with the found illustration to a user.

A method and system for performing one-to-many synchronization using a central server and also using downloadable client software. The system includes a central server, e.g., a web server or an enterprise server, that synchronizes with multiple electronic devices including, for example, a personal digital assistant, a laptop computer, a desktop computer, a cell phone, a pager, etc. Before the data synchronization takes place, and after the electronic device initiates communication with the server, the server downloads client software to the electronic device. The client software allows the electronic device to perform data synchronization with the server. After the synchronization is complete, the client software may be removed from the electronic device. The server data is located in one place and can be accessed from any location using almost any electronic device and the data can be readily protected. The invention provides geographically independent synchronization for the same device. The invention reduces the amount of metadata required to perform synchronization, eliminates slow synchronizations and also operates on standard or pre-existing data structures. The shared client software technique also reduces software maintenance and administrative issues and is helpful for application service providers (ASPS).

One-to-many device synchronization using downloaded/shared client software

One embodiment of the invention enables nodes or endpoints that have been involved with synchronization of data items to determine which version of a data item (if any) has priority over another version of that same data item. For example, one embodiment of the invention can include a method that can include the determination as to whether any data items have matching identities and conflicting priorities after the synchronization process. Provided a first and second data items have matching identities and conflicting priorities, a determination is made as to whether an indication had been made that the first data item is desirable over the second data item. Provided the indication had been made that the first data is desirable over the second data item, it is indicated that the first data item has priority over the second data item.

Determining priority between data items in shared environments

A method and system thereof for synchronizing a data set comprising a first data set residing on a first node with a second data set residing on a second node. Packets are exchanged with the second node. A packet comprises one or more messages and a message comprises a plurality of elements. At least one of the elements identifies the data set. Other information in the packets is used to identify any data from the first data set that needs to be sent to the second node and any data from the second data set that needs to be received from the second node, in order to synchronize the data set on both nodes. The data so identified can then be exchanged.
