An orthosis to be placed on the hand of a user, including a supporting member having the general shape of a horse saddle and having an inner flange and an outer flange, to be placed at the thumb-index commissure with the inner flange against the palm and the outer wing against the back surface of the hand, in order to enable a spacing to be maintained between the thumb and the index finger. The orthosis includes a strap to be placed around the hand and the supporting member so as to retain said supporting member such that the metacarpal bone of the thumb is trapped inside the orthosis between the strap and supporting member.

Orthosis for treating rhizarthrosis

A device is provided for gripping the forearm of a user suffering from muscular problems in the elbow. The device defines a rigid but elastically deformable U-shaped body, and has a bottom. The device includes a first limb and a second limb, and two supporting elements which are mounted on the body such that each one is essentially located on a free end part of a limb of the body. One of the limbs of the body defines a first curved part which is adjacent to the bottom wherein the concave region of the curved part is oriented towards the inside of the body, and a second curved part which extends from the first part towards the free end of the limb. The concave region of the second part is oriented towards the outside of the body such that the limb of the U has a transversal flexion line.

Device for gripping the forearm of a user suffering from muscular problems in the elbow

An orthosis for treating muscle disorders of the elbow has a body made in one piece from a semi-rigid material. The body includes a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a back joining strap. In the unstressed state, the relative position of the distal and proximal portions maintains the wrist in an extended state. The joining strap is deformable such that when pressure is exerted downward on the palm support, the joining strap is deformed to enable the pivotal movement of the distal portion with respect to the proximal portion about a transverse articulation axis parallel to the flexion-extension axis of the wrist. When pressure is released, the body returns to the unstressed state due to resilience. The distal portion is arranged to pivot with respect to the proximal portion about the articulation axis while assisting the extensor muscles of the wrist.

Orthosis for treating muscle disorders in the elbow

An orthosis including a proximal portion consisting of an armband and a strap around the forearm as well as a distal portion consisting of a palm support and a strap around the hand. The support is pivotable relative to the armband about a transverse pivot axis which substantially coincides with the flexion/extension axis of the user's wrist joint when the orthosis is being worn by a user. The orthosis further comprises pivotal locking means for use in a desired angular position.
