An illustrative stent may comprise an elongated tubular member having a first end and a second end and an intermediate region disposed therebetween. The elongated tubular member configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The elongated tubular member may comprise at least one twisted filament, such as a knitted filament having a plurality of twisted knit stitches with intermediate rung portions extending between adjacent twisted knit stitches, or a plurality of helical filaments twisted with a plurality of longitudinal filaments.

Stent

An illustrative endoluminal implant having an elongated tubular member. The elongate tubular member having a proximal stent, a distal stent and an interconnecting sleeve. The proximal stent tapers from a first outer diameter adjacent the proximal end region to a second smaller outer diameter adjacent the distal end region. The distal stent has an outer diameter less than the first outer diameter of the proximal stent. The interconnecting sleeve is collapsible in response to an applied radial force such that the sleeve is positionable across a natural valve or sphincter.

Removable stent

An example medical device for treating a body lumen is disclosed. The medical device includes an expandable scaffold including a first end region, a second end region opposite the first end region and an outer surface. The medical device also includes a covering disposed along the outer surface of the expandable scaffold, the covering having an outer surface. The medical device further includes a plurality of granular particles disposed along the covering. Additionally, the expandable scaffold is configured to shift from a collapsed state to an expanded state, the covering is configured to contact an inner surface of the body lumen in the expanded state and the granular particles are designed to prevent migration of the expandable scaffold upon implantation in the body lumen.

A lumen-apposing access system may include a catheter and a cauterization tip. The cauterization tip may include a biasing member and a cautery element. The cauterization tip may move relative to the catheter between a first position in which the cautery element is electrically inactive, and a second position in which the cautery element is electrically active. The biasing member biases the cautery element in the first position.

A medical instrument may include a tube, a sheath provided around and coaxial with the tube, and an inflatable balloon at a distal end of the sheath. The balloon may receive a fluid from a lumen of the sheath, and may have a central opening along a longitudinal axis thereof, and into which the tube extends, a proximal portion, a middle portion adjacent to and distal of the proximal portion, and a distal portion adjacent to and proximal of the middle portion. When the balloon is inflated with the fluid, a maximum diameter of the middle portion may be less than a maximum diameter of the proximal portion, and less than a maximum diameter of the distal portion. The medical instrument may also include an extraction member provided at a distal end of the tube, distal to the balloon, and movable axially relative to the balloon.

An example stent delivery system is disclosed. The example stent delivery system includes an outer shaft having a distal end region, an inner surface and a lumen extending therein. The delivery system also includes an inner shaft extending within the outer shaft lumen, the inner shaft having a stent receiving region disposed along a distal end region thereof. Additionally, the delivery system includes a stent disposed along the stent receiving region and a braided member positioned radially outward from an outer surface of the stent and radially inward from the inner surface of the outer shaft, the braided member being attached to an outer surface of the inner member proximal of the stent. Additionally, the delivery system includes a plurality of tether members coupled to the braided member, wherein longitudinal retraction of the outer shaft relative to the inner shaft exposes the stent from the braided member.

Stent delivery system

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for controlled delivery of a stent, such as a self-expanding stent, and more particularly for controlling the full deployment of a stent in incremental steps from a sheath and for controlling the reconstrainment of a stent in incremental steps within a sheath.

Devices and methods for controlled delivery of a stent

An illustrative stent may comprise an elongated tubular member having a longitudinal axis, the elongated tubular member comprising at least one knitted filament forming a plurality of twisted knit stitches with intermediate rung portions extending circumferentially between radially adjacent twisted knit stitches. Each twisted knit stitch may be interconnected with a longitudinally adjacent twisted knit stitch forming a series of linked stitches. The elongated tubular member may be configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein in the collapsed configuration the series of linked stitches form longitudinal columns and in the expanded configuration the series of linked stitches extend helically around the elongated tubular member.

Stent delivery device includes an inner member having a distal tip, a stent disposed over a stent receiving region of the inner member, an outer sheath slidable over the inner member, a stent sheath removably coupled to both the distal tip and a distal end of the outer sheath, and a stent expanding element attached to the distal tip and/or the distal end of the outer sheath. The stent expanding element is biased in an elevated position and aids expansion of the stent when the stent sheath is removed. The stent delivery device includes a proximal junction removably coupling the distal end of the outer sheath to the stent sheath, and a proximal junction removably coupling the stent sheath to the distal tip. Each of the proximal and distal junctions are separately actuatable to decouple the stent sheath from either the distal tip or the outer sheath.

A stent delivery device including an elongate shaft having a proximal region, a distal region and at least one lumen extending therein. The stent delivery device also includes a collapsible frame attached to the distal region of the elongate shaft. The collapsible frame includes a plurality of arms configured to surround a stent such that the plurality of arms define a stent containment region. The stent delivery device also includes an inner member extending within a least a portion of the stent containment region and an actuation member configured to actuate the plurality of arms of the collapsible frame from an expanded configuration to a collapsed configuration.

A gastrointestinal assembly may be deployed within a patient's gastrointestinal tract in order to facilitate drainage of an abscess. The gastrointestinal assembly may include an outer stent and an inner stent disposed within the outer stent. The inner stent divides a volume within the outer stent into a primary passageway through which nutritional contents may pass and a secondary passageway protected from nutritional contents and configured to accommodate a passive drainage system for draining the abscess.
