Polymerizable dental material which contains at least one radically-polymerizable monomer and at least one bisacylphosphine oxide of the Formula I, in which Ris a linear or branched Cto Calkyl residue, which can be interrupted by one or more O atoms, PG-Y&#x2014;R&#x2014;X&#x2014; or a substituted or unsubstituted, aromatic Cto Cradical; Ris absent or a linear or branched Cto Calkylene radical, which can be interrupted by one or more O atoms; Ris H, a linear or branched Cto Calkyl residue or PG-Y&#x2014;R&#x2014;X&#x2014;; Ris a linear or branched C-Calkyl or &#x2014;O&#x2014;C-Calkyl residue; Ris H or PG-Y&#x2014;R&#x2014;X&#x2014;; Ris H or PG-Y&#x2014;R13 X&#x2014;; PG is a polymerizable group; X is absent, O or S; Y is absent, O, S, an ester, amide or urethane group; the bisacylphosphine oxide having at least one PG-Y&#x2014;R&#x2014;X group and X and/or Y being absent if Ris absent.
