A touch screen comprising a flexible sheet comprising a substantially planar surface and integral compressible spacer dots formed thereon, where each spacer dot comprises a base cross section in the substantially planar surface of the flexible sheet defined by a first point or set of connected points intersecting an axis in the substantially planar surface, a second opposed point or set of connected points intersecting the axis, and first and second continuous edge segments connecting the first and second points or end points of the first and second sets of points on opposite sides of the axis, wherein the spacer dot has a variable height perpendicular to the substantially planar surface along the axis, and wherein the surface of the spacer dot extending above the base cross section is not equidistant from the mid-point of the axis between the intersections of the first and second points or sets of connected points and the axis.

Integral spacer dots for touch screen

A process for perforating a urethane anti-static filled coating of a metallic drum core with clean holes of substantially uniform size and shape. The process includes placing an electrically conducting absorbing tape between the urethane coating and the metallic core to absorb the urethane melt generated by the laser cutting process. The coated core after being placed in a fixture, is subjected to a laser beam generated by a pulsed CO2 gas laser that passes through a set of rotary optics capable of spinning the beam in circles as it passes through a gas jet/nozzle assembly before beam impact with the coating. Through the use of conductive tape a good ground may be maintained between the anti-static filled coating and the metallic core to prevent static build up on the outer surface of the drum.

Perforated vacuum transport drum and method of manufacture

An improved squeegee roller particularly suited for use in an instant camera has a texture formed by stud-like bumps. A complex contour is provided to the roller by varying the heights of the bumps along the roller surface. In a method and apparatus for producing the roller a pulsed laser beam is used to produce the bumps and the energy of each pulse is varied according to a predetermined program to adjust the height of a bump formed.
