A driver assistance system for avoiding collisions includes an environmental sensor for detecting the traffic environment of the vehicle and a processing unit configured to assess the traffic environment as to the likelihood of a danger and plan a route avoiding or at least minimizing the danger for the vehicle. The processing unit is further configured to predict a possible control intervention of the driver in reaction to the danger and select a route which is compatible with that control intervention.

A method is disclosed for producing a communications link between a motor vehicle and a mobile user terminal. The mobile user terminal and/or the motor vehicle send a request to establish a communications link between the motor vehicle and the mobile user terminal. A check is carried out as to whether the mobile user terminal is configured to output a transfer indication sent from the motor vehicle to the mobile user terminal. A communications link is established between motor vehicle and mobile user terminal if the check is successful. A communications link is not established between motor vehicle and mobile user terminal if the check is unsuccessful.

A vehicle parking assistant system which detects and displays a true distance of an object from the vehicle is disclosed. The system includes several vertically stacked LEDs integrated in a window pane of the vehicle. At least one sensor detects the distance between the motor vehicle and an object at a distance from the motor vehicle. A control unit is connected to the sensor and the LEDs. Each of the LEDs has a threshold value of the distance of the object assigned to it, and the control unit is configured to hold each of the LEDs in an inactive state While the distance exceeds the associated threshold value, and to activate the LEDs when the distance drops below the associated threshold value.

Display strategy for a parking assistance for a motor vehicle

A driver assistance system enables accelerate awareness of a danger source by the driver of a motor vehicle. The driver assistance system includes a display field that, from the viewpoint of the driver, is larger than a primary field of vision, which can be scanned without eye movement on the part of the vehicle driver. The driver assistance system also includes a control unit for displaying signs at different locations in the display field, and a hazard detection unit for detecting at least the direction in which a hazard outside the vehicle is located from the viewpoint of the driver. The control unit is configured to first display a preliminary signal in a preferred direction from the viewpoint of the driver, and then to display at least a first follow-up signal in an intermediate direction between the preferred direction and the direction in which the danger source is located.

A non-transitory computer readable medium stores a computer program causing a computer to execute a process. The process includes determining traffic regulations which are applicable in a region of current surroundings of a vehicle. The process further includes determining if a driver of the vehicle violates at least one of the determined traffic regulations and determining a degree of severity of a violation. The process further includes determining a parameter illustrating a driving behavior of the driver of the vehicle based on the classified degree of severity of the violation. A message is then output including the determined parameter with at least one output device.

Computer program product and driver assistance system for a vehicle

A driver assistance system is disclosed which automatically control the high and low beam of a headlamp on a vehicle. The system includes a camera and an image evaluation unit configured to search images acquired by the camera for initial bright zones that correspond with an activated vehicle headlamp, and to switch the headlamp from a high beam to a low beam upon detecting both a first bright zone and a second bright zone that is larger and less bright than the image of the activated vehicle headlamp.

The driver is monitored by sensors and a state of attentiveness of the driver is ascertained. Vehicle environment monitoring system

In one exemplary embodiment of the invention, a vehicle warning system is provided. The system includes a vehicle having a door movable between a closed position and a fully open position, and an outer zone associated with the door. The outer zone defines an area providing a sufficient clearance to move the door to the fully open position. The system further includes an active safety system that monitors the outer zone and generates a warning signal if an object is located within the outer zone such that the door does not have sufficient clearance to move to the fully open position.

A driver assistance system includes, but is not limited to at least one environment sensor, an evaluation unit for identifying a potential hazardous traffic situation, and at least one actuator that can be activated by said evaluation unit for executing a warning intervention or a hazard-mitigating intervention according to the degree of hazard of the traffic situation identified by the evaluation unit.
