A method of direct reduction of metal oxides that includes catalytic reforming of hydrocarbonaceous gas in a reformer to obtain reformer gas, obtaining at least one precursor gas based on the reformer gas, preparing a reduction gas by heating the at least one precursor gas by means of electrical energy, at least a portion of the electrical energy being introduced by means of plasma.

Process and apparatus for direct reduction with electrically heated-up reduction gas

The invention relates to a conveying system for conveying a material to be conveyed along a conveying path. The conveying system includes a conveying chamber in which the conveying path is arranged. At least one component of a conveying mechanism for conveying the material to be conveyed is arranged outside the conveying chamber. The conveying mechanism includes a traction drive having at least one traction element by means of which carrying elements can be moved in order to convey the material to be conveyed. The carrying elements are arranged in the conveying chamber and protrude through a through-opening out of the conveying chamber. Inside the conveying chamber and/or in the region of the through-opening, the surfaces of the carrying elements are at least partially provided with a thermal insulation material.

Conveying a material to be conveyed

A conveying system () for conveying a material along a conveying path. The system () includes a system housing () having a conveying chamber (), in which the conveying path is arranged, and having at least one secondary chamber (to), which is connected to the conveying chamber () by at least one passage opening and has a fluid atmosphere that is physically and/or chemically different from the fluid atmosphere in the conveying chamber (). The at least one passage opening () and the fluid atmospheres in the conveying chamber () and the at least one secondary chamber (to) set a defined fluid flow in the system housing ().

A conveyor system () for the continuous or discontinuous conveyance of a reactive and/or hot and/or abrasive material to be conveyed along a conveyor path includes a system housing () enclosing the conveyor path, which has at least one fluid inlet () for the introduction of fluid into the system housing (), at least one fluid outlet () for the discharge of fluid out of the system housing (), a charging inlet () for introducing material to be conveyed into the system housing (), and, apart from the at least one fluid inlet (), the at least one fluid outlet () and the charging inlet (), are implemented in a technically fluid-tight manner.

A method and a device for reducing iron-oxide-containing feedstocks, in which a reducing gas is fed to a reducing unit () containing the iron-oxide-containing feedstocks. The reducing gas is generated by introducing a process gas having reduction potential into a heating appliance () for heating the process gas, which is withdrawn as reducing gas therefrom. In the heating appliance (), heat energy is transferred to the process gas. The heat energy is formed by combustion of a fuel gas containing organic substances, including coke oven gas with addition of technically pure oxygen. The flames of the combustion have an adiabatic flame temperature of above 1000&#xb0; C., wherein, in the combustion of the fuel gas, at least some of the organic substances present in the fuel gas are cracked.

Method and device for reducing iron oxide-containing feedstocks

A system for energy optimization in a plant () for producing direct-reduced metal ores (). The plant () has at least one reduction unit (), a device for separating gas mixtures () having an associated compressing device (), and a gas-heating device () upstream of the reduction unit (). Part of the process gases () is fed by a feed line from a smelting reduction plant to the plant for producing direct-reduced metal ores (). A turbine () is fit between the device for separating gas mixtures () and the gas-heating device () upstream of the reduction unit () such that a pressure drop between the device for separating gas mixtures () and the reduction unit () is converted into forms of energy that can be used to operate additional components () of the plant (), in particular electrical energy and/or mechanical energy. Energy consumption of the plant () is reduced.

System for energy optimization in a plant for producing direct-reduced metal ores

A method for reducing material containing iron oxide in a solid bed in a reduction shaft and converting the material to pre-reduced material in the reduction shaft by introducing pre-reduction gas into the solid bed at a pressure p1. Pre-reduced material is introduced from the reduction shaft into a melter gasifier and there finally reduced by reduction gas under a pressure p2. A top gas at pressure p3 is diverted from above the solid bed out of the reduction shaft. A dust exhaust gas having a pressure p4 is diverted from the solid bed out of the reduction shaft. The relationships p1&#x3e;p4 and p1&#x3e;p3, and preferably also p4&#x3e;p3, apply. A device carries out such a method.

Method and device for producing pig iron

A device for closed-loop control of process gases () in a plant () for producing directly reduced metal ores includes at least one reduction unit (), an appliance upstream of the reduction unit () for separating gas mixtures (), a gas purification appliance () connected downstream of the reduction unit () for rate control of process gases (). Process gases () are obtained by recycling from the production process itself and from a plant for pig iron generation () via a supply conduit (). An open-loop pressure control appliance () upstream of a junction of the supply conduit () into a return conduit () for the process gases () such that a pressure level for the appliance for separating gas mixtures () is kept constant and the process gases () are controlled in a closed-loop manner in a plant for producing directly reduced metal ores ().

Device for the closed-loop control of process gases in a plant for producing directly reduced metal ores

A method and a system for treating waste gases () from plants () for pig iron production, wherein a first sub-stream () of the waste gas is subjected to an at least partial conversion of CO into COafter the addition of water and/or water vapor () and the waste gas () is then subjected to COcapture. To be able to set a variable H/CO ratio in the waste gas, a further sub-stream () of the waste gas is not subjected to a conversion of CO into CO, but is subjected to COcapture separately from the first sub-stream ().

Method for treating waste gases from plants for pig iron production

A method for reducing iron-oxide-containing feedstocks by introducing a reducing gas into a high-pressure reducing unit () where the reducing gas is consumed by reducing iron-oxide-containing feedstocks and then the reducing gas is withdrawn as top gas from the high-pressure reducing unit (). At least one subportion of the top gas is admixed to a feed gas as recycle gas (). The reducing gas is generated by CObeing separated off from the gas mixture obtained from the addition of the recycle gas () to the feed gas after one or more compression steps. The recycle gas () is added to the feed gas in at least two recycle gas substreams that are separated from one another with recycle gas substream pressures at various distances from the high-pressure reducing unit ().

Method and device for reducing iron-oxide-containing feedstocks in a high-pressure reducing unit

In a method and an apparatus for separating at least one gaseous component from a waste gas of an installation for producing liquid pig iron, liquid primary steel products or sponge iron, in a first step, a stream of the waste gas passes through at least one adsorption separator at a first pressure, whereby the gaseous component is largely separated from the waste gas and, in a second step, the gaseous component is largely removed from the adsorption separator at a second pressure, which is lower than the first pressure. The method and apparatus are maintenance-free, cause low investment and energy costs and has a lower space requirement by a method in which the second pressure or the desorption pressure is generated by at least one jet pump, which is fed a stream of a propellant gas at a third pressure, which is higher than the second pressure.
