A beam anchor includes first and second arm assemblies, each comprising a torque arm having a jaw portion, and a slotted arm having slotted portions containing an arm slot. The jaw portions oppose each other, the slotted portions are side-by-side, and the torque arm and slotted arm of the first and second arm assemblies are coupled to a pair of braces respectively at a pair of pivot joints. The first arm assembly includes a locking mechanism, movable between a locked position locking the torque arm to its slotted arm, and an unlocked position in which the torque arm is freely pivotable. A connector pin extends into the arm slots, and a load on the connector pin causes the slotted arms to pivot away from each other, and the torque arms pivot to toward each other until the jaw portions engage a web of a beam.

Beam anchor and method of use

An enclosure system including barrier segments and at least one electrical cable coupled to each barrier segment. Each electrical cable having electrical connectors disposed at each of a first terminus and a second terminus of the electrical cable. Each electrical connector is releasably coupled to another electrical connector of an adjacent electrical cable to form at least one continuity loop through the barrier segments. Each continuity loop includes two electrical terminal ends disposed at free ends of the continuity loop. A comparator system is coupled to a respective continuity loop and is configured to generate a closed loop signal when electrical current flows to the comparator system from one of the two electrical terminal ends of the respective continuity loop, and an open loop signal when electrical current ceases to flow to the comparator system from the one of the two electrical terminal ends of the respective continuity loop.

Reconfigurable enclosure system with barrier continuity loop intrusion detection

Methods and apparatus for determining seatbelt status are disclosed. An example system includes a plurality of seats including seatbelts. Each of the seatbelts includes a sensor to detect a position of a respective seatbelt, the position including at least one of a fastened position or an unfastened position, and a transceiver to wirelessly communicate the position of the respective seatbelt. The system includes a remote monitoring unit to receive the positions of the seatbelts. The remote monitoring unit is to determine if one or more seats are occupied and, in response to determining that one or more seats are occupied, the remote monitoring unit is to display an overview the seats and the respective positions of the seatbelts for the one or more occupied seats.

Methods and apparatus for determing seatbelt status

Methods and apparatus for determining seatbelt status are disclosed. An example seatbelt system for a mass transit vehicle includes a first seatbelt of a first seat that includes a first buckle and a first magnetically-responsive switch to detect a first tongue when the first seatbelt is in a fastened position. The example apparatus includes a second seatbelt of a second seat that includes a second buckle and a second magnetically-responsive switch to detect a second tongue when the second seatbelt is in the fastened position. The example apparatus includes a remote monitoring unit to indicate, when the first seat is occupied, if the first seatbelt is in the fastened positioned or an unfastened position. The remote monitoring unit is to indicate, when the second seat is occupied, if the second seatbelt is in the fastened positioned or the unfastened position.

Methods and apparatus for determining seatbelt status

A line connector for a personal fall protection system includes a carabiner having a loop portion that at least partially defines an opening. The opening is configured to receive a mating component of the personal fall protection system. The line connector also includes at least one sensor. Each at least one sensor includes a coil disposed around the loop portion of the carabiner. The line connector further includes a control unit coupled to the at least one sensor. The control unit is operable to send an excitation signal to the at least one sensor and determine whether the line connector is coupled to the mating component based on a response signal received from the at least one sensor.
