A system and method for managing energy consumption of one or more processor cores in a multicore processing device. The method includes translating each activity level of the one or more processor cores to a respective charge value. The method also includes generating, at least partially subject to each translated charge value, one or more charge replenishment requests associated with the one or more processor cores. The method further includes transmitting the one or more charge replenishment requests to a pending queue prior to a delay queue.

A memory system and method for storing data in one or more storage chips includes: one or more memory cards each having a plurality of storage chips, and each chip having a plurality of dies having a plurality of memory cells; a memory controller comprising a translation module, the translation module further comprising: a logical to virtual translation table (LVT) having a plurality of entries, each entry in the LVT configured to map a logical address to a virtual block address (VBA), where the VBA corresponds to a group of the memory cells on the one or more memory cards, wherein each entry in the LVT further includes a write wear level count to track the number of writing operations to the VBA, and a read wear level count to track the number of read operations for the VBA mapped to that LVT entry.

Logical to virtual and virtual to physical translation in storage class memory

A system and method for managing energy consumption of one or more processor cores in a multicore processing device. The method includes recording an activity level of one or more processor cores within a multicore processing device and translating each activity level of the one or more processor cores to a respective charge value. The method also includes generating, at least partially subject to each translated charge value, one or more charge replenishment requests associated with the one or more processor cores. The method further includes determining the one or more charge replenishment requests exceeds a power delivery capacity to the multicore processing device. The method also includes regulating the processing activity of the one or more processor cores to decrease a power consumption for the one or more processing cores.

A mechanism is provided for loading a phase-locked loop (PLL) configuration into a PLL module using Flash memory. A Flash data image configuration from the Flash memory is loaded into a set of holding registers in response to the PLL module locking a current PLL configuration from a set of current configuration registers. The Flash data image configuration in the set of holding registers is compared to the current PLL configuration in the set of current configuration registers in response to the Flash data image configuration failing to be corrupted. The Flash data image configuration onto a PLL module input in response to the Flash data image configuration differing from the current PLL configuration. The Flash data image configuration is loaded in the set of holding registers into the set of current configuration registers in response to the PLL module locking the Flash data image configuration.
