A shift assisted brake control system for a power machine or vehicle is disclosed. In illustrated embodiments, the shift assisted brake control system employs a shift assisted brake sequence. In illustrated embodiments, the shift assisted brake sequence shifts an operating speed of a hydrostatic transmission or motor from a high speed to a low speed upon activation of a brake switch or device. This reduces impact or wear to the brake mechanism. In illustrated embodiments, the transmission or motor remains at the low speed for a pause period and following the pause period, the transmission or motor is shifted to the high speed.

Shift assisted braking for a power machine or vehicle

A side screen for the cab of a work vehicle, such as a skid steer loader, comprises a panel having strips defining openings therebetween. A high percentage of the area of the screen is open for visibility. At least one reinforcing member, such as a rib, is formed in the screen, such as on a strip or on a panel section. An intermediate panel may also provide a section of relatively heightened rigidity. Such reinforcing members reduce sheet bowing, or 'oil can' effect, and maintain flatness of the screen, thereby optimizing the screen for a combination of both protection and visibility.

Work vehicle cab screen

A self propelled power machine is provided with a drive system and a traction lock mechanism. The drive system includes a speed range selector and associated mechanism that can operate the power machine in high and low speed ranges. The traction lock mechanism, when applied stops the drive system from moving the wheels of the power machine. A controller insures the drive system is in the low speed range prior to engaging the traction lock mechanism. The controller determines whether the drive system is operating in a low speed range or a high speed range. If the drive system is in the high speed range, the controller places the drive system in the low speed range and the controller then applies the traction lock after a short time delay to provide some dynamic slowing of the drive. If the system is already in the low speed range, the drive system remains there and the controller applies the traction lock.

An adjustable arm assembly is drivably coupled to a control shaft and is moved by a link that has a centered position. The arm has two portions that are releasably clamped together. A first arm portion is connected to drive the control shaft. A second arm portion is connected to the link. The adjustment includes a clamp that will releasably clamp the two arm portions together in a fixed position, and an adjustment screw is used to adjust the relative rotational position of the first and second arm portions to move the first arm portion to position the control shaft in a centered position relative to second arm portion, when the second arm portion is in a spring return position. The arm portions are then clamped together.

Adjustment for steering levers for hydrostatic drive

A double acting actuator is used for operating a pair of latches, and is controlled through a manifold that will permit a base end of the actuator to remain under pressure, and accommodate valve and piston leakage by connecting the rod end of the actuator to drain through a small orifice. The manifold additionally has relief valves for providing different pressures for the rod and base ends of the actuator, and a flow divider that provides a low flow to the actuator while the main flow from a pump is used for other hydraulic components.

A parking lock for a vehicle such as a skid steer loader is designed to provide a positive lock of drive elements when certain conditions are present on the loader, such as the absence of an operator on an operator seat or the movement of an operator restraint to its non restraining position. The lock member comprises a disc on a final drive axle, that has a member that engages lugs on the disc to provide the locking function, and a friction brake manually operable to engage the discs to reduce the speed of rotation of the discs. The discs having lugs thereon formed in relation to the forces urging lock member toward the discs, such that the lock member will ride on the outer periphery of the disc until the speed has been reduced to a selected amount generally by operation of the brake.

Parking lock with secondary brake

A belt tensioner imparts tension to a belt of a machine and includes a support base and a fastener for adjustably securing the support base to the machine. A shaft is secured to the support base and an eccentric hub is operably coupled to the shaft for at least partial rotation about the shaft. A spring couples the eccentric hub to the support base. A pulley is rotatably coupled to the eccentric hub and engageable with the belt wherein engagement of the pulley with the belt and displacement on the support base on the machine at least partially rotates the eccentric hub about the shaft against the spring.

Eccentrically supported tensioner

A control apparatus controls movement of a lift arm and tool on a skid steer loader. Power actuators are coupled to the lift arm circuit and the tool circuit for moving the lift arm and tool along a path. A sensor is coupled to the skid steer loader for sensing a desired parameter and providing a signal indicative of the desired parameter. A power interrupter is coupled between the power actuators for the lift arm and tool and the sensor and interrupts power to the actuators based on the signal. A manually operable bypass mechanism is coupled to the power interrupter and the power actuators and is used to bypass the power interrupter to allow movement of the lift arm.

Hydraulic interblock system

A traction lock for a vehicle, such as skid steer loader, which provides a lock member that engages rotary drive elements in to the final traction drive of the vehicle. The lock member is operated by signals that indicate a condition on the vehicle, such as the absence of an operator on an operator seat. The lock member is controlled by a solenoid which when energized will retract the lock member from a locking position and hold it retracted and when the solenoid is de-energized, the lock member moves to intercept a lug on a rotary drive element.

Traction lock

A skid steer loader having an improved hydrostatic drive means. A skid steer loader comprises a main frame having a center compartment partially defined by a pair of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced side beams. The engine for the vehicle is mounted at the rear of the center compartment. An elongated transmission case is provided at a forward end of the center compartment and encloses the chain and sprocket drives for the vehicle. Side walls of the transmission case are displaced from the side walls of the main frame, with the drive means for the vehicle mounted on the outside of the case at a mid-portion thereof. The present improvement in the skid steer loader redesigns a drive system used with vehicles of substantially greater load capacity to provide a pair of independent hydrostatic drive means, each incorporating a hydrostatic transmission and having a gear reduction unit mounted on the outside of an elongated transmission case.
