A curable coating composition is provided having multi-functionalized acrylic copolymer and silicone imine resin curing agents. The acrylic copolymer of the curable coating composition has, in polymerized form, epoxy functionalized groups and cure compatibility groups and the silicone imine forms an amino-functional silicone in the presence of water. The coating compositions are useful in the field of superior weatherable and durable coatings and are useful to replace isocyanate-containing polyurethane based coatings. Also provided are coated articles produced from the curable composition.

Weatherable and durable coating compositions

A curable coating composition is provided having multi-functionalized acrylic copolymer and amino-functional silicone resin curing agents. The acrylic copolymer of the curable coating composition has, in polymerized form, epoxy functionalized groups and cure compatibility groups. The coating compositions are useful in the field of superior weatherable and durable coatings and are useful to replace isocyanate-containing polyurethane based coatings. Also provided are coated articles produced from the curable composition.

A foam stabilizing composition is disclosed. The composition comprises (A) a siloxane cationic surfactant comprising a cationic moiety having the formula Z-D-N(Y)(R), wherein Zis a siloxane moiety, Dis a divalent linking group, R is H or an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, subscript a is 1 or 2, and each Y has formula -D-NR+, where D is a divalent linking group and each Ris independently an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The composition also comprises (B) an organic cationic surfactant comprising a cationic moiety having the formula Z-D-N(Y)(R), wherein Zis an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group, Dis a covalent bond or a divalent linking group, subscript b is 1 or 2, and R, Y, and subscript a, are defined above. An aqueous film-forming foam comprising the composition and method of using the same are also disclosed.

An insulation or jacket layer for a coated conductor is composed of (A) a crosslinked silane-functional polyolefin, (B) a filler composed of greater than 50 wt % silica, based on the total weight of the filler, (C) a silicone-containing polymer selected from the group consisting of reactive linear silicone-containing polymers, non-reactive linear silicone-containing polymers, and non-reactive branched silicone-containing polymers, and (D) from 0.00 wt % to 20 wt % of a silanol condensation catalyst, based on the total weight of the insulation or jacket layer.

An insulation or jacket layer for a coated conductor is composed of (A) a crosslinked silane-functionalized polyolefin, (B) a filler, (C) a reactive branched polysiloxane, and (D) from 0.00 wt % to 20 wt % of a silanol condensation catalyst.

The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising: an organosilane having the formula: (R)(3-n) (RO)SiRO(CHCHO)(CHO)Rwherein: n is 1 or 2; a&#x2265;1, b may vary from 0 to 30, with the proviso a&#x2265;b; Ris a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms; Ris hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Ris a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 12 carbon atoms; and Ris hydrogen, R, or an acetyl group; and at least one of a thermoplastic resin, a thermoset resin, and an elastomer. The present organosilane compositions may be useful for treating various surfaces to render them, among other things, more hydrophilic.

Branched polyglycols and branched polyether functional organopolysiloxanes are disclosed as is a process for making branched polyether functional organopolysiloxanes by reacting an organohydrogensiloxane and a branched polyglycol having an unsaturated group via a hydrosilylation reaction, as well as coating compositions containing branched polyether functional organopolysiloxanes and a binder are disclosed. Coatings resulting from these compositions were more hydrophilic and had improved dirt release properties as compared to coatings containing similar, but un-branched, polyether functional organopolysiloxanes.

This invention relates to new blocked isocyanate silicone resins which can be used to make shelf stable one part curable coating compositions. These coatings do not cure until heated. The coatings provide weather resistant protection for numerous substrates including automobile exteriors, leather fabric, electronic components, wood floors and surfaces.

This invention relates to carbinol-functional silicone resins and a method to manufacture carbinol-functional silicone resins. This invention also relates to emulsion compositions comprising the carbinol-functional silicone resins. The carbinol-functional silicone resins can be used to make tough, water resistant, solvent resistant, scratch resistant, and heat resistant materials by formulating and reacting these silicone resins with certain organic materials.

A coating composition, particularly a clearcoat composition, which may be a two-component clearcoat composition, comprises a film-forming material, a crosslinking agent, and a nonlinear polysiloxane polymer having a functional group reactive with the crosslinking agent. This invention relates to aminofunctional silicone resins having high aryl content RSiOcontent and amine content. The aminofunctional silicone resins of this invention are useful in making tough, water, solvent, and heat resistant hybrid materials when used in combination with selected organic materials, particularly epoxy-containing organic materials. The aminofunctional resins of this invention have the ability to flexibilize epoxy compounds while maintaining low CTE and solvent resistance. This invention relates to urethane compositions comprising: (A) 100 weight parts of at least one compound containing at least one isocyanate group; (B) 0.3-300 weight parts of a carbinol-functional silicone resin; (C) up to 250 weight parts of an organic polyol; and (D) up to 10 weight parts of a cure rate modifier. The urethane compositions of this invention are useful as a stand-alone coating or as ingredients in protective coatings, paint formulations, and powder coatings. This invention relates to a coating composition comprising (A) 100 weight parts of a compound containing at least one acrylate group or a compound containing at least one isocyanate group; (B) at least one aminofanctional silicone resin; (C) up to 300 weight parts of at least one organic hardener; and (D) up to 5 weight parts of at least one cure rate modifier. A novel method for preparing an organically-modified, heat-curable silicone resin and the novel resin produced thereby are disclosed. In the method of the invention, a trialkoxysilane, a difunctional diorganosilicon compound, a polyol and a catalytic amount of an acidic cationic siloxane polymerization catalyst are reacted to substantial equilibrium to form an alkoxy-functional product. Substantially all the hydrolyzable alkoxy groups of the alkoxy-functional product are then hydrolyzed and the catalyst inactivated. The product is stripped of water and alcohol and may be diluted with a polar solvent such as xylene to the desired viscosity. The heat-cured resin product obtained in accordance with the invention has superior hardness, flexibility and solvent and impact resistance.
