A vehicle axle-frame mounting has a vehicle frame portion having transversely aligned generally inverted U-shaped wells. A transverse axle includes a differential casing and tubular section extending laterally and opposite from the casing. A mounting member is formed on each tubular section to be received in a respective frame well to have a generally horizontally extending interface and in spaced-apart relationship to the sidewalls of the well. A plurality of cap screws are threadably received in the lower portion of each well's sidewall such that the head of corresponding cap screws capture the lower portion of a respective mounting member therebetween.

Means of securing an axle to frame

A suspension for a grapple includes a swivel link coupled between a support boom and ahead of the grapple for permitting the latter to undergo swinging movement about first and second pivot axes arranged crosswise to each other. At each pivot axis, there is a pivot pin having a brake associated therewith.

A drop hitch system for a log skidder includes a pulley block which serves as part of the connection for connecting a towed implement to a cable wrapped about the drum of a winch provided on the skidder, and having a free end secured to a drop hitch frame secured to the rear end of the skidder. The pulley block is provided with stop structures for seating against a pair of upright cable guide rods provided on the drop hitch frame respectively rearwardly of a pair of upright cable guide rollers, when the towed implement is snubbed against the drop hitch frame.
