A section mill having a tubular mill body is attached to a carrier pipe string such as a coiled tubing string. A translatable elongated tubular piston mandrel is positioned within the mill body to receive a flow of fluid from a central fluid bore in the carrier pipe string. The tubular piston mandrel has attached upper and lower pistons respectively positioned within upper and lower piston chambers in the mill body. The pistons move the piston mandrel vertically upward and downward in response to fluid pressure generated by fluid from the tubular piston mandrel. Longitudinally adjustable plungers are attached to the tubular piston mandrel. Cutter shoes are mounted to the adjustable plunger by pivotally attached yoke links. The yoke links and cutter shoes pivot radially inward and outward by upward and downward movement of the tubular piston mandrel and the attached adjustable plungers.

Coiled tubing section mill

A section mill for milling wellbore tubulars has a tubular mill body, a pivotally mounted mill carrier having a beveled interior profile and a cutter blade on its exterior profile, and a translatable piston having an elongated driveshaft with a radially extending nose cone with a compression spring positioned around the elongated driveshaft. A hook on the elongated driveshaft configured to mate with a corresponding hook catch in the mill carriers maintains the mill carrier in a retracted position. The nose cone of the translatable piston moves upward and downward along the beveled interior profile of the mill carrier in response to fluid pressure. Rotation of the mill body rotates the attached mill carrier and cutter blade for milling.

Section mill

A multi-string section milling tool has a longitudinally extending tubular body with mill carriers carrying hardened cutters that pivotally extend from a mill window in the tubular body by upward movement of a drive plunger. A downwardly biased piston mounted to the upper end of a flow tube is slidably inserted through a stationary thimble below the piston. The lower end of the flow tube is attached to a drive plunger which is pivotally attached to drive yoke links pivotally attached the mill carriers. The piston and thimble creates a pressure chamber in the milling tool. Fluid pressure in the pressure chamber moves the piston, flow tube and drive plunger upward to pivotally extend the drive yoke links and mill carriers radially outward through the mill window. Cessation of fluid pressure in the pressure chamber retracts the mill carriers.

Multi-string section mill

A valve apparatus for in a wellbore. The apparatus may include: a housing fluidly connected to a work string, with the housing having an internal portion having a guide pin; a mandrel concentrically disposed within the internal portion of the housing, the mandrel having a piston attached at a first end of the mandrel and a mandrel cap attached at a second end of the mandrel, and wherein the mandrel contains a circulation port and a jet positioned within the piston, the jet operatively configured to receive the fluid and create a pressure drop during fluid flow through the jet; a guide bushing disposed about the mandrel, the guide bushing having a predetermined guide path contained on the guide bushing and wherein the predetermined guide path is operatively associated with the guide pin; and, a spring operatively disposed within the mandrel. A method for setting a down hole tool in a wellbore is also disclosed.

Multi-circulation valve apparatus and method

An apparatus and method for locating multiple windows in a wellbore. The windows are associated with lateral wells. The apparatus may include: a running tool connected to a work string, wherein the running tool contains an inner bore being located at a distal end of the running tool; a swing arm having a locating head, the swing arm being pivotally attached within an inner cavity in the running tool, wherein the locating head has a retracted position within the running tool and an extended position extending from the running tool, and wherein the locating head has a shearing surface at an aft end; a biasing member disposed within the inner bore, the biasing member configured to create a force in the direction of the locating head; a shearing rod operatively positioned within the inner bore and engaging a first end of the biasing member so that the shearing rod extends from the inner bore in the direction out of the inner bore towards the locating head, wherein the shearing rod contains a series of individual grooves; and wherein the shearing surface is configured to engage and shear the individual grooves of the shearing rod at a predetermined force in multiple, individual cycles.

Multi-window lateral well locator/reentry apparatus and method

A down-hole assembly used to locate an existing window in a main cased well bore and guide equipment through the window and into a lateral well bore after removal of a whip stock. The down-hole assembly includes a running tool with a convex section detachably connected to a concave section of a guide member. The running tool includes a window locator that locates the window. The window locator may contain a selectively reciprocating shear rod operatively associated with a stop/shear block to enable the window locator to locate a plurality of lateral well windows in a main well bore. The guide member includes an inclined or wedge shaped portion for guiding tools or equipment through the window and into the lateral well bore so that remedial work can be carried out.

A down-hole assembly used to locate an existing window in a main cased well bore and guide equipment through the window and into a lateral well bore after removal of a whip stock. The assembly includes a running tool with a convex section detachably connected to a concave section of a guide member. The running tool includes a window locator that locates the window. The guide member includes an inclined or wedge shaped portion for guiding tools or equipment through the window and into the lateral well bore so that remedial work can be carried out.

Lateral well locator and reentry apparatus and method

A quick-connecting coupler for connecting hoses, connectors together or to a faucet or other water accessories that allows ease of use by anyone, including the elderly, the infirm, and those suffering from disabilities. The quick-connecting coupler has a first male-end and a second female end. The second female end is provided with of spaced-apart through-slots or opening for receiving therethrough a pair of forks or leg-sections of a yoke. Each of the pair of forks or leg-sections is provided with at least one interior-facing linear thread or rib for engaging with the male threads of the mating male end of another hose, or the like. The second female end of the coupler of the invention has a pair diametrically opposed cutouts through which portions of the linear threads or ribs are exposed, whereby these exposed portions of the threads or ribs may mate with corresponding portions of the male threads of the mating male end positioned in the second female end of the coupler for coupling the mating male end in the female end of the coupler.

Quick-connecting coupler for hoses, pipes and faucets

A coupler for coupling an end of a hose to a mating end of a faucet or another hose. In the first embodiment, the female end of the coupler is mechanically locked in sealing engagement with a male end by simply translation thereof by means of wedges and an outer retaining sleeve. In a second embodiment, hydraulic pressure provides the final seal, with the female end being a spring split-ring locked and compressed by means of an outer locking sleeve, which outer locking sleeve is released by squeezing it in order to deform it. A third embodiment combines the first and second-embodiments.

A coupler for coupling a male end of a hose to a female end of a faucet or another hose. In the first embodiment, the female end of the coupler is mechanically locked in sealing engagement with a male end by simply translation thereof by means of wedges and an outer retaining sleeve. In a second embodiment, hydraulic pressure provides the final seal, with the female end being a spring split-ring locked and compressed by means of an outer locking sleeve, which outer locking sleeve is released by squeezing it in order to deform it. A third embodiment combines the first and second embodiments.

A hose-coupler made up of a just one component having a main housing section with a female end and a male end. The second female end of the coupler is formed with interior threads, for receiving therein a portion of the male end of the second hose. The main housing section has a compressible portion adjacent to the first male end thereof all the way to the end of the female end. In order to compress the clamping jaws, there is provided a slidable outer housing. The male end is sealed in the female end of the coupler by a biased piston-member that forces a sealing washer against the male end by means of the pressurized fluid volume in the interior of the coupler. Two embodiments are disclosed: A first one that allows the coupler to be disconnected from the male end of a hose only after the water pressure has been turned off; and a second embodiment that allows the coupler to be disconnected from the male end of a hose also while the water pressure is still present. In the second embodiment, a check valve prevents the back-flow of back-pressurized fluid through the coupler after the coupler has been disconnected from a male end of a component.

One-piece coupler for connecting hoses

A hose-coupler made up of a just one component having a main housing section with a female end and a male end. The second female end of the coupler is formed with interior threads, for receiving therein a portion of the male end of the second hose. The main housing section has a compressible portion adjacent to the first male end thereof all the way to the end of the female end. The compressible portion is provided by a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart linear slots for forming a plurality of clamping jaws or elements, so that, when these clamping jaws are compressed toward each other, the interior threads of the female end of the coupler is forced into locking, threaded engagement with the exterior threads of the male end of the second hose telescopingly received therein. In order to compress the clamping jaws, there is provided a collet rotatably-mounted about the main housing's compressible section. The sleeve is used for compressing the jaws for locking the male end of the second hose to the coupler's female end.
