The processor is to mark the data as purge simulated at a purge simulated time, to monitor the data for an attempt to access the data after the purge simulated time, to increase a count of a number of attempts to access the data after the purge simulated time by one in response to an attempt to access the data after the purge simulated time, and to unmark the data as purge simulated and cease monitoring the data for the attempt to access the data in response to the count of the number of attempts to access the data after the purge simulated time exceeding a threshold.
