A roof covering includes a coated roofing mat comprising a roofing mat coated with an organic-based coating material. A reflective layer comprising a layer of an infrared reflective material covers an upper surface of the coated roofing mat. A weatherable layer comprising a layer of a weatherable material covers an upper surface of the reflective layer. The roof covering does not include roofing granules.

An acoustically insulated apparatus is disclosed which includes a machine and an acoustical insulation system for the machine, wherein the machine generates noise having a peak sound frequency. The insulation system includes a two-part stratum having a porous sound absorbing media layer, and a sound reflecting barrier layer located between the sound absorbing layer and the machine, wherein the two-part stratum exhibits maximum sound absorption at the peak sound frequency.

Acoustically insulated apparatus

A panel for an office sound screen includes a core which includes an asphalt layer and insulation layers positioned on both sides of the asphalt layer. Preferably the asphalt layer has a thickness between 0.030 inch (0.076 cm) and 0.125 inch (0.318 cm). The asphalt layer acts as an adhesive so that the insulation layers are laminated thereto. Preferably the insulation layers are made from a fibrous glass wool insulating material having a density between 0.5 pounds per cubic foot (8 kg/m.sup.3) and 5 pounds per cubic foot (80 kg/m.sup.3). The panel further includes a cover layer positioned on at least one side of the core.
