Exemplary methods and devices herein receive the images of a previously printed document (through scanning, raster image processing, etc.), a second document to be printed, and instructions to use print settings of the previously printed document to print the second document. These methods and devices automatically detect page boundaries, detect page orientation, and detect page sequencing within the images of the previously printed document to identify previous layout parameters used to print the previously printed document. With this, these methods and devices automatically prepare a print job ticket for the second document that has job ticket layout parameters that match the previous layout parameters. After this, these methods and devices output (e.g., print or transmit for additional revisions/processing) the second document using the newly created print job ticket to cause the second document to match the previous layout parameters of the previously printed document.

Automatic print job ticket settings based on raster images of previously printed document

Methods, devices, and systems process print jobs and identify print job settings originating from sources other than the system's existing set of print queues. These methods, devices, and systems can then identify frequently occurring combinations of such setting values. With these combinations as input, they can create new, additional print queues (that are formed in addition to the existing print queues) that apply these frequently occurring setting values to additional print jobs that are subsequently processed through the additional print queues; or can create attribute subsets which can be presented as menu selections to simplify subsequent creation of print queues, or updating of print queue programming or individual job programming.

What is disclosed is a novel system and method to control an imaging device. A first collection of a plurality of two-dimensional image points in a first vector space for a source image and a second collection of a plurality of two-dimensional image points in a second vector space for a target image are received. The first collection of two-dimensional image points and the second collection of two-dimensional image points are converted into a homogenous form to apply affine matrix transformations. A matrix transformation is solved to map the first collection of the plurality of two-dimensional image points to the second collection of the plurality of two-dimensional image points. The matrix transformation is used to adjust distortion of the target image in an imaging device.

Controlling placement and minimizing distortion of images in an imaging device

A method to modify the availability of one or more attributes within a print network. One or more devices are interrogated to determine associated attributes. A first set of attribute combinations that cause device failure is determined and placed in an unsupported bank for each device. A second set of attribute combinations that do not cause device failure are determined and placed in a supported bank for each device. Access to the first set of attribute combinations is disabled and access to the second set of attribute combinations is enabled.

Protocol allowing modification of device attribute availability on a print network

A system facilitates communication between a control component and a plurality of processing components. One or more processing components performs one or more tasks, each processing component has at least one attribute associated therewith. One or more attribute banks are associated with each of the one or more processing components, wherein each attribute bank stores the at least one attribute. A control component initiates the one or more tasks for each processing component. A universal driver facilitates communication between the one or more processing components and the control component. The driver includes an interrogation component that queries the one or more processing components to receive the at least one attribute associated with each processing component. A constraint evaluator determines combinations of attributes that are supported and unsupported for each of the one or more processing components. An attribute filter categorizes each attribute combination based at least in part on whether it is supported or unsupported.

An auditron system is provided for a multifunctional printing system including a printing machine with a plurality of document processing services, the auditron system includes a user interface and a programmable auditron subsystem communicating with the user interface and printing machine. The auditron subsystem is responsive to input at the user interface and the input causes the auditron subsystem to be disposed in one of a plurality of modes relative to one of the plurality of document processing services. When the programmable auditron subsystem is disposed in a first one of a plurality of modes, an accounting of each document processing operation performed relative to the one of the plurality of document processing services is maintained on a mandatory basis, and when the programmable auditron subsystem is disposed in a second one of the plurality of modes, accounting of each document processing operation performed relative to the one of the plurality of document processing services is maintained selectively in accordance with user demand.
