Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for antenna calibration. A method implemented at a network function comprises calibrating an antenna of the network function based on available time-frequency resources. The method further comprises communicating with at least one terminal device via the calibrated antenna.

Method and apparatus for antenna calibration

A method and apparatus for generation of orthogonal training signals for transmission in an antenna array are described. In this embodiment, a set of P training signals is generated. The generation of the P training signals includes generating a first set of Zadoff-Chu sequences, where the first set of sequences is based on a first reference Zadoff-Chu sequence and first subsequent Zadoff-Chu sequences, where each one of the first subsequent Zadoff-Chu sequences is a cyclic shift of the first reference Zadoff-Chu sequence. A second set of sequences is generated based on a second reference sequence and second subsequent sequences that are cyclic shift of the second reference sequence. The P training signals are determined based on the first set of sequences and the second set of sequences. The training signals are then transmitted through a plurality of transmit paths of a base station towards a wireless network.

Orthogonal training signals for transmission in an antenna array

In some embodiments, a method of operation of a node to monitor for faults in a receiver subsystem of a radio node comprises estimating a noise floor for each receiver chain of a plurality of receiver chains in the receiver subsystem of the radio node for each of one or more carriers to thereby provide a plurality of noise floor estimates. The method further comprises determining average received power for each receiver chain of the plurality of receiver chains in the receiver subsystem of the radio node for each of one or more carriers to thereby provide a plurality of average received power measurements. The method further comprises determining that there is a fault in the receiver subsystem of the radio node based on at least one of (a) a subset of the plurality of noise floor estimates and (b) a subset of the plurality of average received power measurements.

Automatic receiver chain supervision

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for manufacturing antennas with a unique signature and for identifying an antenna using its unique signature. An exemplary antenna comprises a radiating element and a ground element, between which a resistor-inductor-capacitor (RLC) circuit is connected. The RLC circuit is designed to generate a return-loss profile that serves as a unique antenna signature. The return-loss profile of the RLC circuit exhibits a resonance frequency outside the antenna's working bandwidth.
