Disclosed is a method for heating a housing containing at least one functional member, the housing including: at least one wall shared with a reservoir intended to receive a liquid; and at least one wall provided with an orifice leading to the outside and closed by a pressure equalizing membrane porous to water vapor and impermeable to liquid water. The method is notable in that the interior volume of the housing is heated in at least one of the following situations: when the reservoir is subjected to a drop in temperature other than a drop in temperature likely to cause the liquid to freeze; each time a vehicle equipped with this housing is started; and when thermal conditions capable of producing condensates are detected in the interior volume of the housing, closed by the membrane.

This method for measuring a flow rate of liquid at the outlet of a pump is noteworthy in that a gas accumulator of known volume is provided at the outlet of this pump, in that the gas or liquid pressure inside this accumulator is measured, in that the volume of gas inside this accumulator is deduced therefrom, then the volume of the liquid inside this accumulator, then the flow rate of this liquid at the outlet of this accumulator.

Method for measuring a liquid flow rate at the outlet of a pump

Disclosed is a process for the dynamic monitoring of the flow rate of liquid additive consumed by a liquid-additive injector of an exhaust gas treatment system of a motor vehicle. The measurement of the pressure of the liquid makes it possible firstly to deduce the flow rate circulating through the orifice and secondly, by knowing the operating characteristic of the pump, to determine the flow rate of liquid additive actually delivered to the system for treating polluting gases. The process also provides a phase of characterizing the pump, including commanding the closure of the injector, measuring at least two pressure values for two different operating speeds of the pump, and updating the pump operating characteristics table on the basis of the pressure values measured.

Dynamic monitoring of the flow rate of liquid additive injected into a motor vehicle exhaust gas treatment system

An electric circuit for driving a current through a load resistance in a first state and isolating the load resistance in a second state includes: a first switch configured to connect a first terminal of the load resistance and a first port of the electric circuit, the first switch having a first electric potential; a second switch configured to connect a second terminal of the load resistance and a second port of the electric circuit, the second switch having a second electric potential, different from the first electric potential; and at least one auxiliary resistance included within a bypass line configured to bypass the load resistance and the second switch. The first switch is configured to switch a current flowing through the first switch, and the second switch is configured to switch a current flowing through the second switch.

A method for extracting a liquid additive from an interior space of a tank at an extraction point includes: filtering the liquid additive by at least one filter that covers the extraction point and that is configured to separate the extraction point from the interior space of the tank and through which the liquid additive flows, wherein contaminants of the liquid additive are deposited on a surface of the filter, and extracting the liquid additive from the tank at the extraction point; forming at least one porous filter cake from contaminants of the liquid additive on the surface of the filter; and filtering the liquid additive by the at least one porous filter cake, wherein contaminants of the liquid additive are deposited in the filter cake, and extracting the liquid additive from the tank at the extraction point.

Pump for conveying liquid, having at least one pump housing with at least one inlet and at least one outlet, and including an inner circumferential surface and a geometric axis, where an eccentric is arranged within the pump housing and is moveable eccentrically relative to the pump housing around the geometric axis. A deformable element is arranged in a pump gap between the inner circumferential surface of the pump housing and an outer surface of the eccentric. The deformable element is pressed against the pump housing by the outer surface of the eccentric along at least one section of a conveying channel such that at least one displaceable seal of the conveying channel and at least one closed pump volume are formed in the conveying channel which are displaceable by an eccentric movement of the eccentric for conveying the fluid along the conveying channel from the inlet to the outlet.

A multi-layer liquid purification element includes a liquid-permeable top layer and a liquid-impermeable base layer. The base layer has a suction port for drawing-in liquid through the liquid purification element. At least the top layer and the base layer are connected to one another by a liquid-impermeable connection. At least one separate insert is disposed between the top layer and the base layer. A method for producing a liquid purification element, a device for extracting a liquid additive for exhaust-gas purification from a tank and a motor vehicle are also provided.

A pump includes a pump housing, an inlet, an outlet, a rotatable eccentric, a deformable element between housing and eccentric and a delivery channel from inlet to outlet formed by the deformable element and the housing. The deformable element is pressed against the housing in sections by the eccentric forming a movable seal of the channel and a closed volume in the channel being movable along the channel from inlet to outlet to pump the liquid by rotating the eccentric. A method for operating the pump includes a) setting a liquid quantity to be pumped, b) determining a temperature of the deformable element, c) determining a parameter considering the temperature from step b), the parameter representing a dependence between movement of the eccentric and pump capacity and d) pumping the liquid quantity set in step a) by adapting an operating mode of the pump considering the parameter from step c).

Method for operating a pump

A pump for conveying liquid includes a pump housing with an inlet and an outlet. An eccentric mounted at the housing rotates about an axis relative to the housing. A deformable element is disposed between the housing and the eccentric. A delivery duct from the inlet to the outlet is formed by the deformable element and a circumferential housing surface. The deformable element is pressed in sections against the housing by the eccentric to form a displaceable seal of the delivery duct and a closed pump volume in the delivery duct, which can be displaced along the delivery duct from the inlet to the outlet by a movement of the eccentric to convey liquid. A channel cross-section of the delivery duct is limited by the circumferential surface, a set-back duct surface of the deformable element and a contact seal between the circumferential surface and the deformable element.
