The machine for manufacturing a tire carcass half-reinforcement from a single filament wrapped around a bead wire which includes: bead wire holders operated by actuating cylinders, allowing said bead wire to be held in a predetermined position; a ring which has half as many hooks as there will be arches of carcass filament contained in the tire that is to be manufactured, the ring being held a predetermined distance away from said bead wire; a reel of filament which is moved in the central space of the bead wire, wrapped around it, the path crossing the plane of the ring and passing radially inside it; and a mechanism for hooking the filament onto each of the hooks.

Manufacture of carcass reinforcement for a tire using two carcass

The machine for manufacturing a tire carcass half-reinforcement from a sie filament wrapped around a bead wire which includes: bead wire holders operated by actuating cylinders, allowing said bead wire to be held in a predetermined position; a ring which has half as many hooks as there will be arches of carcass filament contained in the tire that is to be manufactured, the ring being held a predetermined distance away from said bead wire; a reel of filament which is moved in the central space of the bead wire, wrapped around it, the path crossing the plane of the ring and passing radially inside it; and a mechanism for hooking the filament onto each of the hooks.

Tubular tire for motor vehicles, of the type including an inflatable tubular inner (pneumatic) tube, a bracing, a case of the radial type, a rim strip, some rubber sides, a tire tread and two semi-rigid circular rods. The two rods 7 are set at the level of the bracing 2 at the edges thereof; the rim strip 4 has a width included between approximately 0.25 L and approximately 0.35 L; the transverse section of the tire has an H/L ratio included between approximately 0.5 and approximately 0.6; the sides 5 of the tire have a profile corresponding to that of the top part of the curve which represents the equation of a classic radial tire; the aggregate is such that, seen in transverse section, the tire fairly forms an isostable triangulated system.

Isostable tubular tire

A press for the vulcanization of tires comprising a horizontal cross-member which is mounted in a cantilever fashion at one of its ends on a support having a vertical axis, and which is able to both pivot about and to slide along the vertical axis of said support. In order to control both the pivoting and sliding movements of the horizontal cross-member, there is provided a single control means associated with guide means comprising a cam follower member and a groove forming a cam having two end portions which extend vertically and which are one another offset vertically and angularly in relation to axis of support, and an intermediate portion progressively connecting the two end portions of the groove.

Tire curing press

Device for centering and positioning the upper bead of a horizontally disposed crude tire around a bead ring provided centrally of the upper, vertically movable portion of the mold in a vulcanizing press of the type comprising a set of radial segments disposed in a central cavity in the upper mold portion, said segments having their operative ends shaped to constitute together a tapered centering member; a vulcanizing bladder is firstly inflated moderately in order to push said upper bead against said tapered centering member, whereafter said segments are allowed to retract radially and rise in said cavity under the bladder pressure until the upper bead is force fitted around the bead ring.

Drum for manufacturing radial-carcass tires, characterized in that it comprises means acting in synchronism for transforming a plane cylindrical surface, on which the rubber layers are laid together with the radial plies and the bead wires, into a toroidal surface by producing a geometrical preformation both in development and in section, and by a positive turning of the fabric and layers after shaping same.
