The invention relates to a device for blowing a fluid onto at least one face of a thin element of the band type, comprising, within a containment () having a horizontal longitudinal axis (XX') corresponding to the axis of travel of the band, at least one radial-flow fan () with a vertical axis (ZZ&#x2032;), having at least one outlet connected to at least one pipe () for feeding nozzles () directed towards the said face, characterized in that the nozzles () induce fluid jets in at least one plane perpendicular to the direction (XX&#x2032;) of travel of the said band.

An abrasive product is formed, in a blank making machine, into a layer forming a blank including at least abrasive grains. The layer is then set atop on at least another blank making machine, an assembly line along which successive posts are provided at the site whereof the elements designed to form the grinder are set on top of one another to form a stack, a station for heating the stack, and at least a pressing machine to compress the heated stack. An embodiment need not include the heating station. The grinder is a thin grinder that can include at least a reinforcing layer pierced with a hole wherein the abrasive product is distributed. The process is useful for making grinders for parting, machining, or pumicing.

Method and installation for making abrasive grinders and grinder obtained by said method

An abrasive product is formed, in a blanket making machine, into a layer forming a blank including at least abrasive grains. The layer is then set atop on at least another material layer and assembled thereto. The installation includes, besides at least a blank making machine, an assembly line along which successive posts are provided at the site whereof the elements designed to form the grinder are set on top of one another to form a stack, a station for heating the stack, and at least a pressing machine to compress the heated stack. An embodiment need not include the heating station. The grinder is a thin grinder that can include at least a reinforcing layer pierced with a hole wherein the abrasive product is distributed. The process is useful for making grinders for parting, machining, or pumicing.

A grindstone exhibiting good abrasive properties while being inexpensive and including stacked layers. The stacked layers include at least one layer of abrasive grain, which in turn includes juxtapose zones of different abrasive grains, one of these zones being proximate to the center of the at least one layer and another of the zones extending along the outer periphery of the at least one layer. A method for forming the at least one layer makes a blank of a first type of abrasive grains and a ring of a second type of abrasive grains. Respective inner and outer contours of the blank are geometrically similar. The ring and the blank are positioned in an inserting position, and then in a subsequent step for making the grindstone, the stack of layer is pressed. Such a grindstone and method can be useful for making cutting-off and surface-treating wheel, as an example.
