In an electronics system, an adjustable airflow guide assembly and methods of deploying it facilitate dissipating heat. The assembly includes an extendable plate having a first coupling capable of rotatably attaching the extendable plate to a chassis, a link, including a second coupling, capable of translatably attaching the link to the chassis, and a third coupling capable of rotatably attaching the link to the extendable plate. The extendable plate presents a guide to deflect airflow and is capable of being swung into multiple different fixed positions to divert airflow within the electronics system toward portions of the chassis configured with electronic components that produce heat, such as board solid state drives (BSSDs).

Systems, appartuses and devices are used for front cable management of equipment modules mounted in equipment racks. One aspect is directed to an apparatus for front cable management generally including a cable management device for a rack-mounted equipment module supported in an equipment rack. The cable management device generally includes an articulated arm assembly movable between a retracted operational position and a service position extending forwardly out from the equipment rack. Another aspect is directed to a system for front cable management generally including an equipment rack and a rack-mount support for movably positioning a rack-mount equipment module on the equipment rack. The rack-mount support generally includes a front end configured to receive a cable management device for routing cables from a cable zone of the equipment rack to a front end of the rack-mount support.

A power cord retainer is provided for an equipment module including a chassis, a power receptacle, a handle adjacent to the receptacle, and a power cord. The power cord retainer includes a cable clip with a clip portion configured to engage a cable of the power cord, and a mounting portion extending from the clip portion. The power cord retainer also includes a bracket with an elongated section, a plurality of mounts extending along a length of the elongated section for adjustably receiving the mounting portion of the cable clip, and a hook section at one end of the elongated portion configured for partially encircling the equipment module handle. The power cord retainer is configured to secure the power cord plug in the equipment module power receptacle when the clip portion engages the power cord cable and the hook section partially encircles the equipment module handle.

A portable power unit is used for powering a rack-mountable equipment module, in which the equipment module includes an equipment chassis and a bus bar connector extending from the equipment chassis, and in which the bus bar connector is configured to engage a power distribution system of an equipment rack when the equipment module is mounted in the equipment rack. One aspect is directed to a portable power supply unit generally including a bus bar adapter electrically connected to a DC power supply, a mount for supporting the bus bar adapter, the mount having an end, and a tool-less connection electrically connected to the bus bar adapter and extending from the end of the mount, in which the tool-less connection is configured for engaging the bus bar connector of the equipment module.

A faceplate configured for attachment to a communications module may be provided. The faceplate may comprise a first surface arranged in a vertical direction relative to the chassis and a second surface arranged at an angle to the first surface. The second surface may comprise a connector for attachment to another piece of equipment, such as an antenna.

The electronic system has a chassis having a base and a set of flanges extending from the base. The electronic system has electronic circuitry housed within the chassis. The electronic system has a fan assembly having a fan arranged to generate an air stream suitable for cooling the electronic circuitry, and a fan mount. The fan mount has an attachment portion arranged to attach to the fan. The fan mount has a set of chassis interface portions arranged to form a cantilever with the set of flanges relative to the base to vibrationally isolate the fan from the base.

In accordance with an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein an apparatus comprising a top case having a top surface and a side surface and a bottom case having a bottom surface and a side surface. The top case comprises a flange protruding from the side surface, the flange having at least one extended surface. The bottom case has an aperture having portions extending from the bottom surface to the side surface. The portion of the aperture extending along the bottom surface is configured to have sufficient width to allow the entire flange to pass through. The side surface of the bottom case has a vertical post such that the base section of the flange passes through the portion of the aperture on the side surface while vertical post retains the at least one extended surface.

In an example embodiment, a light pipe mounting interface may include a support strip and at least one light pipe projecting from the support strip. The light pipe is to extend through a housing. A hook projects from the support strip to engage with the housing, and a cantilever snap head projects from an extension of the support strip to engage with the housing. The cantilever snap head and the hook lock the light pipe in a predetermined position with respect to the housing.

An apparatus and method for preventing incorrect insertion of individual plugs into multiple connector ports is provided. A cable bundle is provided for the purpose. The cable bundle includes a plurality of cables and at least one slider. The slider holds the plurality of cables within the cable bundle in a required sequence. The slider can be positioned along the length of the cable bundle to determine the distance between the ends of the cables. This adjusted length and the sequence in which the plurality of cables are held, prevents incorrect insertion of individual cables into connector ports. The cable bundle may include a guide.

A circuit board includes a first circuit board section which is configured to support a set of light emitting diodes, a second circuit board section which is configured to support high-speed electronic circuitry, and a boundary section which defines an EMI boundary between the first circuit board section and the second circuit board section. The boundary section includes a set of outer surface elongated ground strips configured to form an EMI seal onto which a set of EMI shields is capable of mounting. In some arrangements, the set of outer surface elongated ground strips take the form of metallic bands (e.g., layers of copper). Such bands can be integrated into the circuit board itself (e.g., during PCB fabrication), or added onto one or more of the circuit board surfaces (e.g., after PCB fabrication).
