A connector includes a plastic body, a front part of which is covered with a steel case and a rear part of which has an insertion plate connected thereto. A common ground connection means is associated with a rear side of the insertion plate by locating staggered upper and lower common ground terminals at the front edge of the common ground connection means in some of the terminal slots on the insertion plate to thereby electrically contact with rear ends of connection terminals provided on the plastic body and seated in the same terminal slots. Ground wires in multiple-core cables are connected to the terminal slots that have both the common ground terminal and the connection terminal seated therein and other information wires in the multiple-core cables are connected to the terminal slots that have only the connection terminal seated therein. Thereby, noise interference may be effectively reduced and transmission speed may be increased.

Connector

Disclosed is a connector mainly including a plastic body, a front steel case, and an insertion body assembled to a rear end of the plastic body. The insertion body is provided at top and bottom front surfaces with terminal slots corresponding to upper and lower rows of insertion terminals provided at a front end surface of the insertion terminals. Partitioning ribs are provided between rear ends of adjacent terminal slots and separating strips are provided at a rear end of the insertion body corresponding to the partitioning ribs with a receiving recess transversely extending between the corresponding ribs and strips. Interconnecting cables are connected to a rear end of the connector and each includes multiple conductors that are spacedly arranged corresponding to the insertion terminals and fixed in place by clamping them between a set of clamping pieces that are then set in the receiving recesses with bared front ends of the conductors projecting from the clamping pieces into the terminal slots to contact rear ends of the insertion terminals in the terminal slots between the partitioning ribs. The bared conductors and the insertion terminals can then be electrically connected by thermal welding at a time.

Electrical connector

A connector including a plastic body, a steel case housing a front part of the plastic body, an insertion body assembled to a rear end of the plastic body with insertion terminals on the plastic body separately located in terminal slots on the insertion body. Two cables including many conductors are symmetrically connected to upper and lower sides of the insertion body with bared front ends of the conductors separately located in the terminal slots on the insertion terminals. Two covers with forward projected pressing ribs are firmly covered onto the cables with the pressing ribs located in the terminal slots of the insertion body above the bared front ends of the conductors and the insertion terminals to tightly press them together. The covers and their pressing ribs are fixedly connected to the insertion body and the terminal slots by means of radio heating, so that each bared front end of the conductor is located in one terminal slot to tightly contact with only one insertion terminal without the risk of short circuit.

An interface card connector that includes a plastic main body and a PC board that includes a main portion and a front insertion portion. The insertion portion is provided on top and bottom surfaces with multiple elongated conductor contact strips. The plastic main body includes a transverse opening through which the insertion portion of the PC board extends. The protective side walls are provided on inner surfaces with guiding channels that receive the PC board. The PC board is pushed through the plastic main body in the guiding channels so that the insertion portion extends beyond the plastic main body, thereby enabling the contacts of the PC board to be directly electrically connected to a compatible connector.

Interface card connector

Disclosed is a two-piece connector including a plastic body and a top plate. The plastic body is formed of alternately arranged upper and lower pin holes for a plurality of pins to insert into. The upper and the lower pin holes are separated from one another by a separating wall between them. The top plate can be covered and connected to the plastic body by engaging two mortises on the top plate with two tenons on the plastic body. A portion of the top plate extends beyond the plastic body after the top plate is connected to the plastic body. A plurality of ribs are provided on a bottom surface of the portion of the top plate extending beyond the plastic body. Each clearance between two adjacent ribs forms a pin hole corresponding to one of the upper pin holes on the plastic body and forming a continuation of the upper pin hole. Pins can be more easily and accurately inserted into the upper pin holes before the top plate is covered to the plastic body to enhance the production efficiency.

Two-piece connector

Disclosed is a parallel connector assembly for a disk drive mainly including an L-shaped fixing member, an upper and a lower connectors associated together by the fixing member, a first base integrally formed with the lower connector and having a plurality of pins disposed at a bottom surface thereof, a second base connected to a back side of the first base and having a plurality of pins disposed at a bottom surface thereof, wires connecting the upper and the lower connectors to the pins on the second and the first bases, respectively, a housing having an integrally formed fixing block, and a spacing member together with the fixing block to space and locate the wires in place. The wires spaced and located by the fixing block and the spacing member can be protected from deformation to avoid short circuit and thereby ensure stable and correct data transmission. And, the wires can be quickly connected to the connectors and the bases by inserting them into holes formed on the connectors and the bases.
