Orthopedic fixation devices and methods of installation thereof

An orthopedic fixation device for affixing the screw head of a polyaxial pedicle screw has a tulip, a saddle, and a ring. The tulip has an interior cavity and two opposed threaded arms and a lower ledge. The saddle is inserted into the tulip body, and has a U shaped groove for receiving a spinal fixation rod. The ring has a diameter that is smaller than the widest diameter of the screw head, and is formable into a diameter larger than the widest diameter of the screw head when the screw head is pushed into the ring. The ring has a connection portion that mates with a connection portion of the saddle. The screw head is clamped within the tulip body between the saddle and the ring when a cap is threaded between the tulip arms.

Stabilizing bones using screws and rods

Orthopedic fixation devices, assemblies, and methods for securing a spinal rod. The orthopedic fixation device may include a tulip head, a bone fastener, a rotatable saddle, and a threaded locking cap. The saddle may be insertable into the tulip head in an unlocked position with a rod seat offset relative to a rod slot of the tulip head. The saddle may be rotated into a locked position with the rod seat aligned with the rod slot such that a rod is positionable through the rod slot and into the rod seat. The threaded locking cap may secure the rod and bone fastener.

Orthopedic fixation devices and methods thereof

A spinal rod anchoring device is disclosed comprising a body comprising a distal end and a proximal end, wherein a threaded bone anchor is positioned toward the distal end, and a U-shaped head portion is positioned toward the proximal end. The head portion and the threaded bone anchor are fixedly attached. The spinal rod anchoring device also comprises a saddle comprising a concave interior region wherein the interior region has an open channel. The saddle is moveably seated within the base of the head portion, and a spinal connection element is disposed on the saddle. The spinal rod anchoring device further comprises a retaining pin configured to be inserted through the channel in the saddle and secured in a groove, wherein the groove is centrally positioned within the head portion, wherein the retaining pin secures the saddle to the head portion.

Monoaxial-uniplanar hybrid screw

Expandable fusion devices, systems, and methods. The expandable fusion device includes one or more integrated deployable retention spikes configured to resist expulsion of the device when installed in the intervertebral disc space. The implant may include upper and lower main endplates, an actuator assembly configured to cause an expansion in height of the upper and lower main endplates, and a sidecar assembly including a sidecar carrier, an upper carrier endplate pivotably coupled to an upper spike, and a lower carrier endplate pivotably coupled to a lower spike such that forward translation of the sidecar carrier pushes against the upper and lower carrier endplates, thereby deploying the upper and lower spikes.

Expandable fusion device with integrated deployable retention spikes

Orthopedic fixation devices, assemblies, and methods for securing a spinal rod. The orthopedic fixation device may include a tulip head with one or more internal components configured to secure a bone fastener. The tulip head may house a breakable shear clip that has an initial solid form. When the bone fastener is loaded into the tulip head, the shear clip breaks forming a split ring that expands radially outward to accept the screw head. Then, the shear clip collapses around the screw head, thereby securing the bone fastener to the tulip head. A spinal rod may be secured in the tulip head, for example, with a locking cap.

The rod link reducer assembly provides a manipulator rod having a first end, a second end, and an elongate body extending along a body axis between the first end and the second end. A post extends outwardly from the rod. A rod manipulating joint comprise an elongate joint rod extending along a joint rod axis, a first coupling clamp disposed along the joint rod, the first coupling clamp releasably connectable to the post, and a second coupling clamp disposed along the joint rod adjacent to and rotatable about the joint rod relative to the first coupling clamp. The second coupling clamp is releasably connectable to a shaft. A biasing member is adapted to bias the second clamp against the first clamp.

The present invention is generally directed to orthopedic fixation devices that comprise a pre-assembled double headed tulip assembly, having two tulip elements to receive rods, wherein the assembly may be configured to receive a bone fastener in at least one of the tulip elements. At least one of the tulip elements may comprise a saddle and a ring to attach the double headed tulip to a bone fastener.

Orthopedic fixation devices and methods of installing the same. The orthopedic fixation device may include a coupling element and a bone fastener, whereby the bone fastener can be loaded into the coupling element through the bottom of a bore in the coupling element. A retaining clip disposed below the fastener in an annular channel of the coupling element has an inner diameter which is less than a maximum diameter of the head of the bone fastener.
