A page turner apparatus includes a book holder assembly, one or more page turning assemblies and a driver. Each page turning assembly includes a rotator portion and a page retention portion and is laterally movable and rotatable. The page retention portion includes a page retaining arm which is rotated to the right of an axis of rotation when the page turning assembly is moved to the right and rotated to the left of the axis of rotation when the page turning assembly is moved to the left. The driver is adapted to laterally move the at least one page turning assembly and, at the same time, rotate each page retaining arm.

An efficient way to perform rendering operations in an image processing environment includes a warping engine having a warping module and a domain of definition (DOD) module. When an object is warped, a new DOD for the image is determined by the warping engine by comparing the location of certain pixels in the warped image with their corresponding locations in the original image. By maintaining a DOD for the warped images, only that portion of the DOD that intersects with a region of interest is computed, thus resulting in optimized performance.

An apparatus for turning bound pages, the apparatus having a frame; a book support assembly coupled to the frame; at least one pickup arm coupled to the frame; a motor assembly coupled to the frame; and a conveyor assembly coupled to the frame. The conveyor assembly has a belt; a plurality of fingers coupled to the belt; and at least one actuator coupled to the belt. A subset of the plurality of fingers hold the book in an open condition. Upon rotation of the belt by the motor assembly, the at least one actuator causes the at least one pickup arm to lift a portion of a page while a subset of the plurality of fingers hold the bound pages in an open condition and turn the lifted page.
