Adhesive composition comprised of an unvulcanized block polymer product and a compatible tackifier resin. Said adhesive composition is required to be prepared by (A) mixing a solution of a block styrene/isoprene polymer product with a solution of a tackifying resin and (B) optionally removing the solvent.

Adhesive composition and method of preparation

An adhesive composition having particular reference to solution cast and hot melt adhesives comprised of an admixture of a tackifier and an unvulcanized block polymer product produced by the process of contacting conjugated diolefinic monomers mixed with a suitable amount of divinylbenzene under solution polymerization conditions with a polystyryl lithium catalyst.

Adhesive composition

A rubbery copolymer of butadiene, styrene and acrylonitrile, if desired, with a tensile strength of about 50 to about 100 psig containing a minor amount of styrene, particularly in combination with selective tackifier resins. Said copolymer is preferably prepared by a step-wise aqueous emulsion polymerization with styrene and modifier being incrementally added. Said rubbery copolymer/tackifier mixture is particularly useful as an adhesive.

Adhesive composition and butadiene, styrene, acrylonitrile copolymer

An adhesive composition which comprises an admixture of at least one of natural rubber and synthetic rubbers with a tackifying resin containing carbon-to-carbon unsaturation therein prepared by reacting in the presence of an aliphatic solvent and a catalyst selected from aluminum chloride and ethyl aluminum dichloride a monomer mixture comprised of about 88 to about 98 weight percent of a selected diolefin/olefin mixture and, correspondingly, about 12 to about 2 weight percent .alpha.-methyl styrene. Said adhesive composition has particular utility for use as a pressure sensitive adhesive.

A composition which comprises a mixture of (a) an unvulcanized elastomeric block copolymer having the general configuration A -- B -- A, where A is a non-elastomeric styrene polymer block and B is an elastomeric diene polymer block of 1,3-butadiene and (b) a tackifying resin containing carbon-to-carbon unsaturation, characterized by having a softening point of about 60.degree. C. to about 110.degree. C. and comprising about 30 to about 55 weight percent units derived from piperylene, about 20 to about 45 weight percent units derived from 2-methyl-2-butene, about 15 to about 30 weight percent units derived from dicyclopentadiene and about 20 to about 35 weight percent units derived from .alpha.-methyl styrene. The composition has particular utility as a pressure-sensitive adhesive.

Adhesive compositions of a block copolymer and tackifying resin

A tackifier composition comprised of a tackifying resin and a selected oily polymer distillation cut as well as an admixture thereof with selected rubbery polymers to achieve an adhesive composition. Said tackifier composition is comprised of both a tackifying resin derived from the polymerization of a mixture of at least one olefin and at least one diolefin as well as an oily polymer distillation cut at a temperature in the range of about 190.degree. C to about 250.degree. C of the product of polymerizing a monomer mixture comprised primarily of piperylene and selected monoolefins with the optional addition of dicyclopentadiene and .alpha.-methyl styrene.

Tackifier composition and rubber mixture

An adhesive composite which comprises an admixture of at least one of natural rubber and synthetic rubbers with a tackifying resin containing carbon-to-carbon unsaturation therein prepared by reacting in the presence of an aliphatic solvent and a catalyst selected from aluminum chloride and ethyl aluminum dichloride a monomer mixture comprised of about 60 to about 75 weight percent of a selected diolefin/olefin mixture and correspondingly about 40 to about 25 weight percent .alpha.-methyl styrene. Said adhesive composite has particular utility for use as a pressure sensitive adhesive.
