An apparatus to maintain an environment over an anterior surface of a patient eye can include an enclosure sized and shaped to be seated about the patient eye to form a cavity within the enclosure. The enclosure can be configured to contain a fluid other than ambient air in contact with the patient eye. The apparatus can include a fluid regulator in communication with the enclosure, where the fluid regulator can be configured to regulate the composition of the fluid contained within the enclosure.

Therapeutic eye treatment with gases

An apparatus to treat, inhibit, or prevent an eye condition in a patient can include a cover, sized and shaped to fit over an eye of a patient to define a cavity between the cover and an anterior surface of the eye when the cover is located over the patient eye. The apparatus can include a pressure source, in communication with the cavity, capable of applying non-ambient pressure in the cavity. The apparatus can include control circuitry, in communication with the pressure source, configured to vary non-ambient pressure applied to the cavity to affect a targeted pressure relationship between an indication of a first physiological pressure level and a second physiological pressure level associated with the eye of the patient.

Apparatus and methods to adjust ocular blood flow

An apparatus can include a left cover, sized and shaped to fit over a left eye of a patient to define a left cavity between the left cover and an anterior surface of the left eye and a right cover, sized and shaped to fit over a right eye of the patient to define a right cavity between the right cover and an anterior surface of the right eye. The apparatus can include a left pressure source to apply a left working fluid to the left cavity, the left pressure source capable of generating a left cavity pressure including a left negative gauge pressure and a right pressure source to apply a right working fluid to the right cavity, the right pressure source capable of generating a right cavity pressure including a right negative gauge pressure, where the right pressure source can be separate from the left pressure source. The left pressure source can be configured to generate a left cavity pressure independently of the right pressure source and the right pressure source can be configured to generate a right cavity pressure independently of the left pressure source.

Eye treatment apparatus and method with independent pressure sources

An apparatus for at least one of diagnosing or treating an eye condition can include a goggle enclosure, sized and shaped to be seated on an eye socket of an eye to provide one or more cavities within the enclosure that extend about an entire exposed anterior portion of the eye, a pump, in fluidic communication with the one or more cavities to apply a fluid pressure to the one or more cavities, the pump configured to adjust a fluid pressure within the one or more cavities of the goggle enclosure, and a control circuit, including a data interface to receive data directly or indirectly indicating at least one of an intraorbital pressure, ICP, IOP, or a relationship between ICP and IOP, and based on processing the received data as a feedback control variable, controlling the pump to adjust the fluid pressure within the one or more cavities, the controlling including using further monitoring of the received data to control the pump.

Stent delivery systems and associated methods for delivering stents are disclosed herein. In several embodiments, a handle assembly for delivering a stent from a tubular enclosure can include a first lead screw having a first lead thread of a first pitch and first handedness, a second lead screw having a second lead thread of a second pitch and second handedness different from the first handedness, and a housing defining threads of the first and second pitches. The first lead screw can be in mechanical communication with the tubular enclosure, and the second lead screw can be in mechanical communication with the stent. Upon rotation of a portion of the housing, the housing threads can engage the lead screws so as to induce simultaneous translations of the lead screws in opposite directions. The simultaneous translations are configured to deploy the stent from the tubular enclosure.

Stent delivery systems and associated methods

Disclosed is an injector which comprises an injector housing having a longitudinal axis and an injection probe disposed along the longitudinal axis. The injector further comprises an intraocular lens disposed in the housing. The intraocular lens comprises first and second interconnected viewing elements, and the optical axes of the first and second viewing elements are substantially aligned. The optical axes are substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The injector further comprises a lens carrier which engages one of the viewing elements. The viewing elements are moveable in response to longitudinal movement of the lens carrier relative to the injector housing. The longitudinal movement causes both (i) the optical axes to be displaced relative to each other and (ii) the viewing elements to be disposed substantially on the longitudinal axis of the injector housing.

An injector for inserting an intraocular lens into an eye includes a lumen. The lumen can include a terminal portion at a distal end and a proximal portion juxtaposed with the terminal portion. An injector plunger can be disposed within the lumen for generating a driving force on the intraocular lens. The injector can include a lens frictional force that has a first value when the lens is at a first location within the proximal portion and a second value when the lens is at a second location within the terminal portion. The first value can be smaller than the second value. In some embodiments, the lens frictional force increases abruptly from the first value to the second value as the lens approaches the distal end of the lumen.

Disclosed are apparatus for delivering an accommodating intraocular lens to an eye. One apparatus includes an injector with a longitudinal injection passage that has a longitudinal injection axis. The apparatus also includes an accommodating intraocular lens having two interconnected viewing elements. The injector has a member for moving the lens into the injection passage of the apparatus. The accommodating intraocular lens has a longitudinal bisection axis and is initially disposed within the injector with the longitudinal bisection axis at an angle which is non-parallel and non-perpendicular to the injection axis. Additional apparatus and methods are disclosed as well.
