A computerized system and method for determining an optimum amount of radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) to administer, comprising: performing processing associated with obtaining activity image information related to at least one agent for sub-units of at least one imaged organ from at least one detector; performing processing associated with running at least one calculation for the activity image information, using at least one computer application, to obtain absorbed dose rate image information; and performing processing associated with adding the absorbed dose rate image information, using, the at least one computer application, to obtain RPT total absorbed dose image information for the at least one imaged organ; wherein macroscopic distribution measurements that are related to microscopic or sub-unit distribution of the at least one agent are utilized.

Method and system for administering radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT)

The disclosure discusses methods for determining absorbed dose information. A tomography imaging device generates an anatomy image relating to anatomy of a particular patient. A tomography imaging device also generates multiple radioactivity images regarding radioactivity distribution of an internally administered pharmaceutical over time in the particular patient. The radioactivity images related to the radioactivity distribution over time are registered. Each radioactivity image is combined with each anatomy image to create activity images. A Monte Carlo simulation for each activity image is run to obtain absorbed dose-rate images of the pharmaceutical at multiple times. The absorbed dose-rate images are integrated over time to obtain a total absorbed dose image. The absorbed dose-rate images and the total absorbed dose image are used to obtain a biologically effective dose (BED) image. The BED image is used to obtain an equivalent uniform does (EUD) of BED values for a chosen anatomical region.

Methods for determining absorbed dose information

The present invention discloses methods for treating non-malignant cell diseases by administering to an individual a construct comprising actinium-225 or bismuth-213 and an antigen of a non-malignant cell. Also, provided is a method for treating a solid tumor associated with an abnormal proliferation of cells by targeting an antigen of the tumor-associated vasculature with the constructs.

A system and method for adjusting count rate information, comprising: acquiring, using at least one detector, static image information from at least one imaged object; acquiring, using the at least one detector, whole body image information from the at least one imaged object; determining, using at least one computer application, the count rate information using the static image information and the whole body image information; and adjusting, using the at least one computer application, the count rate information by accounting for movement between the at least one detector and the at least one imaged object.

A computerized method and system for determining an optimum amount of Internal Radionuclide Therapy (IRT) and External Radiation Therapy (XRT) to administer, comprising: obtaining activity image information for an imaged object from a detector; running a Monte Carlo simulation for the activity image information to obtain absorbed dose-rate image information at multiple times; adding the absorbed dose-rate image information from each time to obtain IRT total absorbed dose image information; and utilizing the IRT total dose image information to obtain total dose image information that is equivalent to XRT dose image information in terms of dose-rate, wherein the IRT dose information is converted to equivalent XRT dose information without having to generate BED dose maps.

A method of imaging a characteristic of image intensity of an imaging agent in a subject consists of introducing the imaging agent into the subject and repetitively scanning the subject at each of a plurality of time intervals, so as to produce a plurality of time-sequenced images throughout the subject. Each of the time-sequenced images is then subdivided into a notional array of image elements such that there is a one-to-one correspondence between positions of image elements in the array and locations in the subject. Thereafter, a value of image intensity of the imaging agent at the corresponding location in the subject is determined for each image element in each of the time-sequenced images, the image elements in the arrays of successive time-sequenced images being in register with each other with respect to the locations. The determined image intensity values of image elements of plural time-sequenced images, in register with each other, are then combined to generate an image of the characteristic of image intensity of the imaging agent.
