An environmentally safe, pesticidally effective composition is provided to control insect/mite pests. In an exemplary embodiment, a composition is provided that includes a pesticidally effective, yet environmentally safe, concentration of at least one spinosyn with at least one additional contact-acting insecticide and/or miticide and at least one solvent or carrier.

Wide spectrum insecticide and miticide composition

Bait compositions of spinosyns in combination with metal complexones and other mollusicides are provided in an environmentally safe composition that is effective to a treat and/or control a wide spectrum of insect and mollusc pests.

Insecticide and molluscicide composition and methods

An effective, readily ingested molluscicidal bait poison includes a mollusc bait and a second component. The second component can contain a transition metal compound and a complexing agent, and/or the complex of a transition metal compound and a complexing agent. The complexing agent is preferably iminodisuccinic acid (IDS), including sodium IDS (IDS Na-Salt), iminodifumaric acid (IDF), iminoditartaric acid (IDT), iminodimaleic acid (IDMAL), ethylenediaminedifumaric acid (EDDF), ethylenediaminedimalic acid (EDDM), iminodimalic acid (IDM), ethylenediamineditartaric acid (EDDT), ethylenediaminedimaleic acid (EDDMAL), and salts thereof.

Ingestible molluscicide

An environmentally safe pesticidal liquid suspension composition including a mixture of sulfur combined with pyrethrins and/or pyrethroids is provided. The pesticidal composition is effective to control plant diseases, as well as insect and mite pests. The composition can be prepared as concentrated or ready-to-use formulations. Formulations can be applied to plants, both indoors and outdoors, to control plant disease and insect and mite pests and reduce plant damage from such pests. The formulations can be applied to plants with minimal phytotoxicity (plant damage) and do not leave unacceptable levels of visible sulfur residue.

Pesticidal composition

An ingestible mollusc poison contains a simple metal compound, an activity enhancing additive such as ethylene diamine disuccinic acid (EDDS) and derivatives thereof, and a carrier material edible to molluscs. In one embodiment the active agent of the mollusc poison may be in the form of a metal complex of EDDS. The composition may be used alone or in conjunction with molluscicidal co-active agents and/or fertilizers.

Naturally occurring enhancer of metal toxicants in molluscs

The pyrethrin-based nonphytotoxic arthropodicide is effective against a wide range of pests and is suitable for domestic and gardening uses. The composition comprises a trigliceride component derived from vegetable seed oils, a pyrethrum extract, and one or more surfactants. Optionally, antioxidants and emulsifiers may be added as well.

Triglyceride enhanced pyrethrin-based arthropodicidal composition

A chemical barrier effective to irritate and repel molluscs contains an active ingredient formed of fatty acid salts of monocarboxylic acids having chain lengths ranging from 8 to 14 carbon atoms, coconut fatty acid, palm kernel fatty acid, and mixtures thereof. The barrier may be in the form of a solid or a gel-like material that is able to harden to a solid. A solid barrier may also be formed by providing a solid substrate coated with the active ingredient barrier composition.

Chemical mollusc barrier

An effective, readily ingested molluscicidal bait poison includes an inert mollusc bait and two active ingredient precursors. These precursors are edible and non-toxic to terrestrial molluscs when consumed alone. However, the composition which includes the two precursors is fatally toxic to terrestrial molluscs. One precursor is a simple iron compound, while the other precursor is selected from edetic acid, its hydroxyethyl derivatives and salts of these acids. In another embodiment a single active ingredient may replace the two precursors. This active ingredient may include ferric edetate and the ferric hydroxyethyl derivative of edetic acid.

Ingestible mollusc poisons

A composition is provided which serves as an antifeedant, preventing terrestrial molluscs from feeding upon living plants. The active ingredient, which may be present at concentrations of above 0.05% by weight, is a saponin-containing plant extract. At concentrations above about 0.15% by weight, the composition acts as a terrestrial molluscicide. Exemplary sources of the active ingredient include Yucca schidigera and Hedera helix. The composition may be a liquid or a dry powder, and various formulation enhancing agents may be added to the composition.

An environmentally compatible herbicidal composition comprises a fatty acid active ingredient, and a surfactant component. In one embodiment the composition comprises a ready-to-use microemulsion having a fatty acid active ingredient, one or more quaternary ammonium salt surfactants and water. Another embodiment comprises a concentrated herbicidal formulation having a fatty acid active ingredient and one or more surfactants. The concentrate may subsequently be diluted with water to yield a ready-to-use formulation. Each of these compositions is a foliar applied herbicide which effectively controls a variety of unwanted weed and grass species. The fatty acid component of these herbicidal compositions comprises pelargonic acid which may be used alone or as the predominant component of a mixture of fatty acids including caprylic, pelargonic, capric, undecanoic, and lauric.

Fatty acid based herbicidal compositions

An environmentally compatible herbicidal composition comprises a fatty acid active ingredient, an oil component and an emulsifier component. The composition is a foliar applied herbicide which effectively controls a variety of unwanted weed and grass species. The fatty acid component of the herbicidal composition comprises pelargonic acid which may be used alone or as the predominant component of a mixture of fatty acids including caprylic, pelargonic, capric, undecanoic, and lauric acids. The oil component comprises a triglyceride (e.g., various vegetable oils), a terpenoid-based oil or a paraffinic mineral oil. The emulsifier component comprises one or more anionic or non-ionic emulsifiers.

Fatty acid based emulsifiable concentrate having herbicidal activity

An environmentally compatible herbicidal composition comprises a fatty acid active ingredient, and a surfactant component. In one embodiment the composition comprises a ready-to-use microemulsion having a fatty acid active ingredient, one or more quaternary ammonium salt surfactant and water. An environmetally safe, broad spectrum insecticidal composition is disclosed. The composition combines a mixture of monocarboxylic acids (such as oleic and linoleic) and their alkali metal salts, and a pyrethroid compound. In a concentrated form of the composition, the monocarboxylic acid mixture comprises about 50 percent by weight monocarboxylic acids and their salts, at least 70 percent of which comprise oleic acid and at least 6 percent comprise linoleic acid. The pyrethroid compound is present in the concentrate at about 0.2 to 2.0 percent by weight.

Environmentally safe insecticide

An aqueous pesticidal composition is provided which includes a pesticidally active ingredient in admixture with a polyacrylamide supersorbent material, which may be cross-linked. The pesticidally active ingredient, which may be virtually any commonly used insecticide, herbicide, or fungicide, may be present in the formulation at or below the recommended dosage of the pesticide if used alone. The supersorbent material is present at a concentration in the range of about 0.01 to 0.5 parts by weight per part by weight of formulation. The pesticidal composition of this invention displays synergistic characteristics as the supersorbent, which has no independent pesticidal properties, greatly improves the pesticidal effectiveness of the active pesticidal ingredient with which it is used.
