An ultrasonic testing probe operable to perform an ultrasonic inspection on a workpiece, the workpiece having an interior region. The testing probe comprises a support; an ultrasonic testing element that is structured to generate an ultrasonic output that is directed toward the workpiece and to receive an ultrasonic input from the workpiece that is responsive to the ultrasonic output, the ultrasonic testing element being movably situated on the support; a motor apparatus structured to be electrically connected with a control apparatus, the motor apparatus comprising a motor that is connected with the ultrasonic testing element and is structured to rotate the ultrasonic testing element with respect to the support; and a bladder that is structured to be movable between an initial state and an expanded state, the expanded bladder structured to be engaged with the workpiece within the interior region and to center the support in the interior region.

Ultrasonic testing probe, couplant delivery system, and ultrasonic testing apparatus

An ultrasonic testing apparatus structured to perform an ultrasonic inspection on a workpiece. The ultrasonic testing apparatus comprises an ultrasonic testing probe structured to generate an ultrasonic output directed toward the workpiece and to receive an ultrasonic input from the workpiece that is responsive to the output; a couplant delivery system comprising a couplant supply, the couplant delivery system further comprising an actuator which, when operated, is structured to apply from the couplant supply an amount of a couplant to at least one of the workpiece and the ultrasonic testing probe; and a control apparatus electrically connected with the ultrasonic testing probe and with the couplant delivery system, the control apparatus being structured to receive the ultrasonic input and being further structured to operate the actuator. A couplant delivery system that is operable with an ultrasonic testing apparatus that is structured to perform an ultrasonic inspection on a workpiece.

An apparatus for performing ultrasonic evaluation of a portion of a pipe includes a frame assembly and a plurality of ultrasonic sensors disposed in the frame assembly. The frame assembly includes a frame which is structured to cooperatively engage an outer surface of the pipe. The frame has a curved surface which is curved about an axis which, when the frame is engaged with the pipe, generally coincides with the central longitudinal axis of the pipe. The curved surface is generally defined by a radius which is generally equal to an outer radius of the pipe. The plurality of ultrasonic sensors are disposed in the frame assembly a fixed distance from the curved surface.

Apparatus and method for improved corrosion thinning detection

Remote visual inspection system

A non-destructive examination pipe scanner that employs a main carriage on which a sensor is mounted, a tensioner carriage and an idler carriage. The main carriage and the tensioner carriage are positioned around the pipe at spaced locations and connected on either side by a spring band. The idler carriage is slidably supported by the spring band in between the main carriage and the tensioner carriage. The sensor on the main carriage collects data about a circumferential weld on the pipe as the main carriage drives the tensioner carriage and the idler carriage around the circumference. The tensioner carriage has a variable length connection that adjusts the tension on the spring band to urge the main carriage, idler carriage and tensioner carriage into contact with the surface of the pipe.

Non-destructive pipe scanner

The thumb pad, in a preferred embodiment, is disposed in the thumb hole of a bowling ball. The pad is a thin, multi-layer, highly flexible pad. A first elongated tape-like layer has an adhesive surface adapted to be adhered to the bowling ball wall defining the thumb hole. The length of the thumb pad does not exceed the depth of the thumb hole. The width of the thumb pad is approximately the width of the backside of the thumb. The backside of the thumb is the side opposite the palm side of the thumb. The thumb pad includes a second elongated tape-like layer overlaying the first tape-like layer opposite the adhesive surface. The second layer has a low friction surface (preferably TEFLON coated) adapted to be positioned adjacent the backside of the thumb. The thumb pad further includes a thin, compressible, foam-like pad interposed between the first and second layers at a position remote from one end of the overlaid first and second layers. The foam pad is positioned remote from the bottom of the thumb hole such that the pad is aligned with a portion of the thumb intermediate the medial knuckle of the thumb and the proximal thumb joint.

An athletic device for restraining hand movement about the wrist which allows for variably increasing or decreasing the relative stiffness of the restraining member that is adjustably coupled to the back and side of the hand and wrist. The device is used to prevent wrist 'break' or undesired hand movement during the delivery of a bowling ball. The device includes a plurality of wrist and hand embracing straps coupled to an L-shaped housing that encloses a removeable, inflatable restraint chamber that is sized to reach from the first knuckle longitudinally past the wrist. The housing includes finger engaging loops. The firmness and individual comfort of the restraint may be adjusted by controlling the volume of air (air pressure) within the support member.
