A method for mitigating interference at a receiver may include receiving a communication signal at a first Circular Polarization (CP) antenna as a first received signal, receiving the communication signal at a second CP antenna as a second received signal, phase shifting the second received signal that was received by the second CP antenna to produce a phase shifted signal, and mixing the first received signal that was received by the first CP antenna and the phase shifted signal to produce a resulting received CP signal. Related systems, devices and computer program products are also described.

Interference cancellation using circular polarized antennas

A method of communicating data between a first transceiver and any of a plurality of second transceivers, wherein areas serviced by each of the plurality of second transceivers either overlap or are adjacent. The method comprises operating the first transceiver and the plurality of second transceivers in an overlapping frequency range. Each of the plurality of second transceivers operates in a time period different from a time period of another of the plurality of second transceivers.

Method and system for mitigating co-channel interference

An enhanced-range beacon signal transmitted from a wireless terminal in a frequency band used by the wireless OFDM communications system for OFDM communications. The beacon may be received at each of a plurality of base stations of the wireless OFDM communications system. A location of the wireless terminal may be determined responsive to reception of the beacon signal at the plurality of base stations. In some embodiments, the beacon signal includes a narrowband beacon signal, which may be centered at a frequency offset with respect to a set of subcarriers used in the wireless OFDM communications system, for example, between adjacent subcarriers of the wireless OFDM system and/or in a guard band of the OFDM frequency band.

Methods, apparatus and computer program products for beacon generation and processing in an OFDM communications system

A base station selectively communicates with terminals using first and second separately allocated frequency bands, e.g., separate cellular/PCS bands, of a government spectrum allocation based on propagation conditions between the base station and the terminals. The base station may transmit in the first frequency band and receive in the second frequency band during a first time slot and transmit in the second frequency band and receive in the first frequency band during a second time slot. The base station may transmit to a terminal in the first frequency band while receiving from the terminal in the second frequency band during the first time slot and may transmit to the first terminal in the second frequency band while receiving from the first terminal in the first frequency band during the second time slot.

Wireless communications apparatus and methods employing opportunistic frequency band use

A system and method of operation for efficiently reusing and/or sharing at least a portion of the frequency spectrum between a first satellite spot beam and a second satellite spot beam, and/or an underlay terrestrial network associated with a second satellite spot beam. The spectrum is efficiently reused and/or shared between respective spot beams and/or associated underlay terrestrial systems in a manner minimizes interference between the respective satellite and terrestrial systems.

Coordinated satellite-terrestrial frequency reuse

Digital data broadcasting is performed by analyzing propagation characteristics in a broadcast propagation area to determine a rebroadcasting strategy. Data packets are broadcast, and at least one of the data packets is selectively rebroadcast, to broadcast receiving stations in the broadcast propagation area according to the rebroadcasting strategy that was determined. The analyzing, broadcasting and selectively rebroadcasting are performed independent of receiving acknowledgements that data packets have or have not been received. The rebroadcasting strategy may be determined by measuring a received signal quality of broadcast data packets at multiple locations in the broadcast propagation area and/or by simulation of the propagation characteristics based on a model of the broadcast propagation area.

Digital data broadcasting systems, methods and components that selectively rebroadcast data packets based on analysis of propagation characteristics

Selected data packets that were broadcast over millimeter microwave frequencies to millimeter microwave receiving stations in a millimeter microwave broadcasting system footprint are rebroadcast. Rebroadcasting is selected based upon an indication that is received from a subset of the millimeter microwave receiving stations, that the one or more data packets were not received successfully by the subset of the millimeter microwave receiving stations. Selective rebroadcasting may be performed based upon statistical analysis of indications that are received from the subset of the millimeter microwave receiving stations.
