A cover for the machine-less binding of pages into a booklet comprises a cover having a longitudinal edge of a strip of pressure sensitive tape adhered inside the cover along the central fold line to accept shingled edges of the pages.

Cover for binding sheets

A cover for protecting and supporting a plurality of sheets bound together with a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape and bound to the cover by the tape. The cover has a binding area and a protective coating in that area where the binding tape has an adhesion force of between 200 and 700 grams per 1.27 cm width of tape according to a standard adhesion peel test. The coating may be an actual coating of low adhesion material, a film, a coated plastic film, or the cover material. The cover may include a sheet folded centrally, a truncated cover to afford attachment of a separate cover sheet, or the cover may be formed to cover only the front or back of the documents to be bound thereon.

Booklet cover

A sheet for binding loose pages together in pamphlet form comprises a thin flexible sheet having a band of pressure sensitive adhesive coated along one longitudinal edge and protected by a release liner. The sheet permits binding the sheets easily by hand.

Method and sheet for binding pages

A roll of pressure-sensitive tape material which is divided into predetermined lengths by perforations transversely of the length of the tape and each length of tape is separated by a second length of tape and by perforations which provide means for grasping and controlling the length of tape as it is dispensed to avoid contamination of the adhesive on the predetermined length of tape.

A binding tape for binding the shingled edges of sheets has a supple tough and flexible nonwoven fibrous backing coated on one surface with a pressure-sensitive adhesive and with a barrier coat to seal the backing on the other surface. A low adhesion backsize is coated on the backing to permit winding or stacking strips of tape. Tabs adhered to the ends of the strips aid in locating the strips in relation to the shingled edges.

Strip of binding tape

A staple-supporting strip for use with staples when binding documents together which affords removal and retention of the staples. The staple-supporting strip comprises a narrow elongate strip of tough polymeric material between 0.1 and 0.15 mm thick. The strip may be colored or printed with a window identifying the area for reception of the staples. A narrow coating of a low-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive facilitates positioning of the strip on the uppermost sheet of the documents to be stapled together.

Staple supporting and removing strip

A staple-supporting strip for use with staples when binding documents together which affords removal and retention of the staples without detrimental affect on the document. The staple-supporting strip comprises two narrow layers of tough flexible polymeric material between about 0.1 and 0.15 mm thick. The strip may be colored or printed with a staple target area and a coating of a pressure-sensitive adhesive holds the bottom layer of the strip on the uppermost sheet of the documents to be stapled together such that the top layer may be peeled from the lower layer to unclench the staple legs during removal.
