An optical connector assembly (OCA) includes a connector housing to maintain alignment between optical components housed within the OCA and photoelectric converters on an optoelectronic substrate (OES) assembly. The optical components include a ferrule and an optical cable. The ferrule is optically coupled to the optical cable. The OCA includes a ferrule holder to hold the ferrule within the OCA, and a spring located between the connector housing and the ferrule holder. The spring is to apply a separating force between the ferrule holder and the connector housing. The OCA includes a gasket coupled to the connector housing. The coupling of the connector housing to a socket compresses the gasket to provide a seal between the connector housing and the socket.

Systems and methods for illumination and color management in a system having a plurality of color sources and a plurality of color sensors, wherein there are more color sources than color sensors are described herein. An embodiment of the method includes emitting a plurality of different colors of light from at least two of the color sources, wherein the plurality of colors consist of different intensities of light emitted by the plurality of color sources. Colors of light emitted by the at least two color sources are detected using at least one of the color sensors. The color rendering index for each of the plurality of colors emitted is determined. A color of light to be emitted by the light sources is selected. The intensities of light to be emitted by the color sources is selected, based at least in part on the color rendering index, to achieve the selected color of light.

Illumination and color management system

A rapid diagnostic test system includes a lateral-flow strip for performing a binding assay. The lateral-flow strip contains a binding agent having a deposition density that varies periodically along at least a portion of the lateral-flow strip. The test system further includes an imaging system that is used to capture an image of the portion of the lateral-flow strip.

Rapid diagnostic test systems and methods

A lighting unit having a light generation section, a light analysis section, a controller, and a first communication interface is disclosed. The light generation section and the light analysis section are housed in a housing having a transparent window. The light generating section includes a plurality of groups of LEDs, each group emitting light of a different spectrum than the other groups. The light analysis section generates intensity signals related to the intensity of light generated by each of the groups and the intensity of light originating from a location outside the housing. The controller adjusts a current through each of the LEDs in response to the intensity signals. The first communication interface is utilized by the controller to communicate with a device external to the lighting unit for receiving commands during the operation of the lighting unit.

Wavelength division multiplexer architecture

Input devices and methods of operating the same are described. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a housing, a display screen, a main input device, a wireless receiver, a carrier bay, and an auxiliary input device. The main input device translates user manipulations of the main input device into control signals. The auxiliary input device is sized and arranged to be carried in and attached to the carrier bay in a docked state and detached from the carrier bay in an undocked state. In the undocked state, the auxiliary input device translates user manipulations of the auxiliary input device into control signals and wirelessly transmits the control signals for reception by the wireless receiver. In the docked state, the auxiliary input device is unresponsive to user manipulations of the auxiliary input device. The apparatus additionally includes a graphics controller in the housing that presents a graphical user interface on the display screen in accordance with the control signals received by the wireless receiver from the main input device and the auxiliary input device.

Input devices and methods of operating same

A temperature compensated apparatus for filtering light is comprised of a holographically recorded grating defined in a photosensitive layer for providing optical filtration for light incident on the grating with a predetermined angle of incidence, and an angulation means responsive to temperature for tilting the grating relative to the angle of incidence of the light as a function of temperature of the grating so that changes in the filtration by the grating compensate for changes in temperature of the grating to maintain effective filtration of the light approximately constant.
